Every single time smh. All these great pitchers and they are always hurt or trying to be a celebrity.(harvey)

That's baseball in general. All these guys get hurt

It's weird to say because it's still hugely important but building your team around a dominant staff might not work anymore with the frequency these guys get hurt and how important bullpens are now

I think Mets fans are a bit more sensitive to the injuries issue because it has happened in the past...with big time talent.

Those who are older remember the promise of Isringhausen, Pulsipher and Wilson.

It didn't happen, and the Mets managed a WS appearance in 2000 anyway, but when Generation K fails on the heels of a powerhouse mid-1980s roster that didn't live up to their potential...you tend to have a real sore spot when things go wrong. Even if it happens in 2017.

As a general rule, this is certainly true.

However, when 3 of the 5 in the Mets rotation were all clicking they made the WS with a mediocre defense and offense.

Just gotta strike and WIN when you get the opportunity. Mets blew their World Series.

I agree with that. If they were healthy I think they make the playoffs this year and they certainly have a chance in any series with that staff

Though it's not as dominant as it was because Harvey's not the same

With a healthy Syndergaard, Matz and deGrom, that's plenty to breeze through the NLDS. And almost guarantees you a minimum of 6 games in the NLCS.

And by the way, for those lamenting that the Mets chose not to keep Murphy...

I don't think anyone could have anticipated that Murphy would up his swing trajectory to hit so many more fly balls and homers. Most of us thought it was just a hot October. But he really has taken his career to another level. It's almost Jeff Kent-like.

Yep which is why the fire Terry or the gm is so stupid . No team can recover from the injuries they've had

They've made the playoffs two years in a row and would have been three if not for injuries

I will say this off-season coming up is important because their losing a lot of players to fa will be intreresting what their lineup looks like next year

@Regular_P

Wilson Contreras is the cubs Catcher of the future he's been getting rave reviews in camp.If the NL doesn't get the DH in the next collective bargaining, the cubs need to either convert schwarber to a full time left fielder or consider trading him for a young ace like sonny gray.

I said this march 2016 :camby:
