David Cone bought up the Japanese League Two Wild-Card system, and I kinda like it
The Wild Cards play a 2-game series, the team with the better record gets both home games.
The home team has to win only 1 game to advance, while the road team has to win both.
That is much better than this 1-game gimmick, and I hope Manfred adopts this real soon.
Edit: Correction: It's the Korean League.
To be real any chance the pirates had at making a run got fukked via the current wild card system. They made the playoffs three times but two of the times they got buzzsawed by Baumgarner and Arietta in the play-in. So on one hand I'm definitely for this.
On the other hand, the owner is still ridiculously cheap as fukk (Google Juan Nicasio for the latest example) and just extended their overrated gm and coach, so honestly fukk em
