So who's gonna trade for Donaldson now? Jays can't realistically keep him after this season he gonna want a multi year deal and they got Vlad JR at 3B for the future
I know the Cards were rumored to be after him earlier this offseason. Maybe the Brewers' moves cause them to revisit that. Supposedly they wanted Manny, too, but sounds like the bass-ackwards O's are stubbornly/foolishly keeping him for the season and letting him walk for nothing afterwards.

:mjlol: We play in New York fukking City and are getting beat financially by the god damn Brewers.

THE BREWERS. :picard:

Dark days ahead for the Mets organization if Conforto's shoulder is just fukked. :wow:
They drafted Brandon Nimmo 13th overall. A kid from friggin Wyoming. I don’t even think his local school had baseball.

The Mets been holding L’s for years.

Nimmo is quietly a pretty solid platoon player. :yeshrug: He's just stuck on the Mets who waste young players careers to play a bunch of old beat up nobodies.

Are the mets broke or something?

The owners have debts up to their eyeballs... they can barely afford the team. Rumor is that their creditors basically set the payroll.

But you now they are buddy buddy with Selig and Manfred so they're not going anywhere.

If the Mets EVER win again is in-spite of ownership not because.

Nimmo sucks b.
He was worth 1 WAR in 60 games while being jerked around all year between NYC and Vegas. He certainly doesn't suck. :manny: His offensive profile plays, with Conforto out for at least 2 months he's gonna get a real look. Him and Kevin Plawecki figured out some stuff with their swings last year which demonstrated promise. Real quietly he was one of the Mets best bats. He's a pole to pole flyball hitter in a park that's not friendly to flys.

He’s a singles hitter who doesn’t hit for average.
In 564 minor league games he hit just 40 HRs. Even playing in the offensive PCL he didn’t show much power.

Nimmo is a 4th outfielder on just about every team in baseball. Probably 5th given his platoon weakness.

He doesn't need to hit for power to be an effective offensive player. He has a good walk rate, his wOBA is solid, he makes good contact and he has good plate discipline. He can easily rotate in a starting MLB outfield as a plus platoon player. He doesn't need to hit .300 when he draws walks and makes solid contact. He's a plus defender in left and right as well.

I'm not saying he's the second coming but he's a good player who's never gotten a real shot until late last year and proved he can play at the major league level.
