I think the big name teams not doing much at the deadline is giving the Twins enough reason to not go big 
Astros by far have the best pitching staff of any team headed towards the playoffs in the AL so if they didn't improve, the Yankees didn't I'm guessing the Twins think they aren't too far behind. I don't know what the cost for some of these players were but if the Mets started with Buxton and other teams demanding top 2 prospects back for bullpen arms, I don't really blame them. Just this year is wide open so if you were gonna take a shot, now is probably the time to do it.
