Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press revealed in a piece published over the weekend, citing multiple persons with knowledge of the talks, that the Tigers rejected trade offers for pitcher Michael Fulmer in 2017 that involved Houston Astros infielder Alex Bregman and Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez.

We talked about it in here yesterday. Avila's a dunce. Worst GM in baseball. :francis:

I'd feel bad for Bregman or Baez if they had been dealt to Detroit. They'd be wasting away. Actually, they probably would have been traded again for peanuts at this deadline.

I just wanted to talk shyt because another Tiger was going to Chicago, but he's a professional hitter; really streaky. I wouldn't be shocked if he was hot down the stretch since he's in a much, much better lineup now. He's always been heinous in the field though. Miggy was better at third than him and he wasn't any better in the outfield.

I assume they'll minimize what he does in Chicago but I could see him committing a major blunder, early, in a playoff game.

I agree. Seems rather straight forward too.
I know we'll lose the art of framing from catchers but it will cut out any question on close calls cuz it seems as long as any part touches the plate, it counts. Not saying their aren't great umps out there, but there are some consistent bad ones and a few that hold grudges:hhh:
