I don't think it's the actual rapping part. Rapping in itself isn't worth clowning over. Its the ones who act bigtime, are complete trash, pushin 40 and rappin like a 20 year old.
These dudes had a "show" back home last week. Instagrammed some videos while pushin a Corolla, lookin stressed, kept adjusting his hat, got his rapper face on, talkin about "support your local hip hop and you're a hater if not"...buy these tickets.
Next day he Instagrammed the video from the show, same rapper face, full rapper outfit, "it's lit", panned to the crowd there's about 18 folks in the auditorium with some nonsense coming outta the speakers and some off beat no flow having cheeseball on stage

But you're dreams look like a Value Village meets CB4 talent show then I'll be that hater

That’s one example but there are countless others man. You just want to believe what you believe. Like the narrative that rappers only rap about those topics, it’s fukking 2019 and you think rappers only rapping bout that?

Hip Hop is a young man's game, that is what seperates it from other genres. Can't be 30/40+ plus talking about bussing down thots, licking shots, and trapping in dope spots....
Conscious/Backpacker rap doesn't sell/stream like trap does...

Im assisting this one brother with speeding up his hiring process cause he has been a temp for a YEAR AND HALF NOW
And on top of that when his vehicle went down I been getting my azz up an hour early to pick him up to take him to work
And I don't mind it's rough out chea...
Matter of fact they talk to me all the time as that OG they can count on
I just hired another temp who needed extra money to Assist me with my business that I owned
Another one said he should have listened to me when he blew 3k out of his savings to a sheiesty music video director that had him missing days and end up losing his job
I just gave him a spot to stay at while he gets back on his feet
So I take action as well as give advice
That was the whole premise of my thread to offer alternatives to these UNDERACHIEVING OVER 30 UEAR OLD RAPPERS THAT I KNEW WHO WERE NEGLECTING RESPONSIBLITIES to focus on BEING GAINFULLY EMPLOYED AND COLLECTING STEADY INCOME as opposed to WAITING ON THAT RAP BAG that might never come...
Now if a aspiring rapper just does it for fun or is able to balance his responsibilities with his passion for rap...
