I don't think it's the actual rapping part. Rapping in itself isn't worth clowning over. Its the ones who act bigtime, are complete trash, pushin 40 and rappin like a 20 year old.
These dudes had a "show" back home last week. Instagrammed some videos while pushin a Corolla, lookin stressed, kept adjusting his hat, got his rapper face on, talkin about "support your local hip hop and you're a hater if not"...buy these tickets.
Next day he Instagrammed the video from the show, same rapper face, full rapper outfit, "it's lit", panned to the crowd there's about 18 folks in the auditorium with some nonsense coming outta the speakers and some off beat no flow having cheeseball on stage:mjlol:
Look-have fun doin what you like :hubie:
But you're dreams look like a Value Village meets CB4 talent show then I'll be that hater:heh:
Grown ass men wanting to be more 69 and not enough Phonte :martin:
Sad.

Hip Hop is a young man's game, that is what seperates it from other genres. Can't be 30/40+ plus talking about bussing down thots, licking shots, and trapping in dope spots....

Conscious/Backpacker rap doesn't sell/stream like trap does...

You mean starting out being 30+? Cuz you still got 30+ year olds rapping about that like Ross and future.

They they are clowns. Period.

Anyone disagreeing and claiming OP is “hating”(you sound like a teenage girl saying that btw) is probably a dusty former wannabe rapper themselves, or just ignorant young dumb fukks.

Sounds beautiful. Except nothing in the OP mentioned a single thing about them lacking at work. Not a single word.

You said they underachieved AS RAPPERS. Same as a dude in a rock band underachieved as he in the same boat.

Now you been called out, you trying to reverse engineer it to say “oh nah I’m fine with them rapping as long as they also work hard”

Where was that statement until right this second? Nowhere

why the fukk u keep mentioning the WHITE BOYS IN THE ROCK BAND as a comparison? :why:

I DON'T HAVE ASPIRING WHITE BOY ROCK ARTISTS UNDER MY WING...AND I DON'T GIVE A FUKK ABOUT THEM.....

and NO THEY ARE NOT IN THE SAME BOAT

BLACK MEN DONT HAVE THE COMPLEXION FOR THE PROTECTION...

LAST HIRED..FIRST FIRED

BLACK ARTISTS ARE STRUGGLING!!!!...GENTRIFICATION IS KILLING SHOW VENUES....PROMOTERS ARE STRUGGLING ..I KNOW THIS AS A FORMER PROMOTER....

I HAVE 30 SOMETHING YEAR OLD BLACK RAPPERS WHO HAVE FAMILIES THAT ARE DEPENDENT ON THE STEADY INCOME THEY ARE GETTING BEING EMPLOYED BY MYSELF AND THIS FIRM...

DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

STOP WORRYING ABOUT THEM "CRAKKKERS"......CAUSE I AIN'T

im providing not only advice but opportunity to them...

AND YOUR AZZ NEVER MENTIONED ONE SINGLE THING ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING FOR THESE BLACK MEN...

ACCEPT RUNNING YOUR DAMN MOUTH ABOUT NOTHING ON SOME HOTEP SHYT...........

IF YOU ARE NOT FEEDING THEM...THEN YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND

CAUSE IF THAT RAP SHYT DON'T WORK...THEY GOING BACK TO FLIPPING GRAMS! :manny:

Yeah it gets frustrating cause it's not fast money and lots of politics and time consuming 10 HR days

im trying to SHOW THEM THE VALUE OF WORKING AND HAVING PATIENCE THAT THINGS WILL GET BETTER....

You doing a lot of talking and not saying NOTHING breh.

Point is, you made this thread to shyt on young black brothers with a HOBBY... People spending 2 gs on camera equipment and just taking photos of friends... nikkas spending money on car upgrades... nikkas spending thousands and countless hours playing video games... nikkas take time to play in flag football leagues.... And softball teams... And everything else

NONE OF THESE THINGS BOUT TO MAKE THEM RICH... But here they are, pouring money into it, to enjoy themselves...

Now had you said "These nikkas making $8 an hour, ain't trying to succeed, quit the job after 2 months to pursue music........" I'd have been right with you brother... But they have a job, they are trying to get a career, and when they clock out, they write raps, record them and perform them.... So not only do they have a plan A in a 9-5.... They also have something they enjoy doing outside of that... It seems like you are kicking them down, for no other reason, than their choice to make RAP music. I'm not even sure you'd have this energy if they said "I sing R&B on the weekend"

That's why everyone has this energy... I'm sure you have things that you spend money on, hobbies that you have, that are a complete waste of time and money, cause you not about to get rich or even have a main career based off it. It just looks like some hater shyt.. You just as easily do all the mentoring and guiding that you do, and also tell them "Don't put all your eggs in rap, but have fun if you enjoy it" But instead you just came off like some hating ass shyt, and everybody sees it

As for what I do for black men..... Well men and boys.. I help run our local chapter for black youth in school. Almost like an after school program but we also put on activities, help them with school, give college scholarships and basically be a second family to young black men. For the adults, we also do food drives, help with emergency services for families in need, feed the homeless, throw back to school events to buy kids supplies, and most holidays we cook and serve in our local community............

And at no time, would I ever tell someone, don't do what you love anymore. I'd help them prioritize it... But to clown and say give that shyt up nikka... Nah... You don't destroy someone's joy if you ain't got anything to replace it with

The Set
OP is a bitter cornball ass nikka who gleans most of his knowledge from magazines and tweets. Tries to come off as an OG, but i peeped his steez long ago. Whenever his threads backfire we get the formulaic responses that you see within this thread.

I'm like :dahell:

Since when was I ever trying to be a famous rapper :russ:

We can't even make music as a hobby :snoop:
sounds like he was just being nice and friendly and didn't wanna say "this shiit trash, Fam"

This is a issue within our community with black males and rapping.

Let's be real .....rapping is a YOUNG MANS game....sure every now and then and old head will pop and blow however 9 times out of 10 that old head been rapping a long ass time already.

nobody is saying you still can't make MUSIC in your 30s,40s,50s but 40year old niccaz still rapping, buying studio time and chasing industry folks is really problematic

everytime he spitting in my ear....

"hey mane....why don't you just do some ghostwriting"...

he be like :krs: taking as a compliment

but im really trying to tell him.......GO SOMEWHERE WITH THAT SHYT MANE...IM TRYING TO GET US TO FINISH THIS DAMN PROJECT!!!!:damn:

and what's worst THEY never seem to break out of RAP MODE CHARACTER...

this same dude had to commute with me to another job site.....he is in quality control and i handle overseeing of the project for the industrial engineering dept.

we were specifically told since this was a site still under construction at a plant to WEAR OUR HARD HATS

this MOFO SHOWS UP IN A FITTED CAP with mall booth Diamond studs in his EAR :mindblown:

i told him..."n1gga are you to WORK or film your MIXTAPE COVER?!?!?" :dahell:

he responded ..."oh you got jokes" :myman:

im like NAH DUDE IM SERIOUS....OSHA IS GONNA BE ALL OVER US..THIS IS A SAFETY VIOLATION :smugdraper:

the point im making is IT'S A TIME AND A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING.....

Exactly......

and i think the real problem is...that THESE MUMBLE RAPPERS AND THOT RAPPERS got everybody THINKING THEY CAN DO IT......CAUSE THE STANDARDS ARE SO LOW

so you got every young cat who really should be concentrating on getting an education and finding a good career or making a business trying to rap

as well as late 30 something year old cats and 40 year olds saying ...I AM WHAT THE GAME IS MISSING...IM A SHOW THESE YOUNG BUCKS :umad:

so now it's SATURATED WITH MASSES OF BLACK MEN STILL CHASING A DREAM .....WITH KIDS WHO NEED RAISING

look i was once a guy who wrote rhymes too...i was pretty good even some of my friends could vouch for me...

but realisticaly NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE "GAME"

cause hearing ILLMATIC LP by NAS changed everything

for the BETTER

cause when i heard the first few bars of NY STATE OF MIND as well as NAS features on MC SERCH and MAIN SOURCE

I WAS LIKE :WHOA: ....im good......I DON'T DESERVE TO BE EVEN TRYING TO BE IN THE RAP GAME WITH A PROFESSIONAL LIKE NASTY NAS :whew:

ya gotta know when SHYT IS OUTTA YA LEAGUE....

just like alot of byatches thinking they dimes and bad byatches cause IG got them fukked up in the head

till they come across REAL BAD BYATCHES who got BEAUTY BRAINS AND BUCKS ($$$)
