I agree with this, that's basically how they rig games, this shyt started from about late 80s early 90s when NBA basketball became international thing, they started changing defensive rules making the game less and less physical so refs could start blowing whistles like crazy which can easily kill the momentum of a team. I'm pretty sure someone could make a good highlight reel of phantom fouls on jordan. Yet he could play hard defense on anyone. That shyt started what we have today.


that kings lakers game 6 was arguably the best example and what did nba do? nothing, and with each year they implement bunch of rules that now every criticism targeted towards refs lands you nba fine. Efficient way of shutting down players coaches opinion on refs so casual fans could worry less about the reffing.

as a kid i used to be baffled how in the 80s teams would score 120 apiece no problem then when the knicks got good and the pistons teams starting scoring 80.. it like how you do a 40 point swing

The NBA is a tough ass sport to officiate. They do suck, but it's a tough sport to call. NBA referees often have to call what they "think" is going to be a foul. What I mean it's not like football where you can throw a flag, converse over it and decide to pick it up; or not throw a flag and then do a group huddle and then decide to throw a flag 30 seconds after the play ended. Calls in the NBA are what they are for the most part, so refs end up calling shyt they "think" will be a foul a lot the time before a foul actually occurs.

NBA refs also seem like they are the referees greatest affected by the home crowd in sports. Same calls a team wasn't getting on the road, but now they're at home and getting every call? How many times have we all seen a late rally by a road team, and there ends up being a pivotal play like a potential blocking. call or charge on the road team, and that shyt gets called a charge when the crowd erupts (when it should have been a blocking foul)?

Game rigging goes on in the college level. Like someone else said, you can't rig for shots to go in, but you can rig the game by missing shots or losing control of the ball on purpose in order for your own team to lose. And, you have to be the one or the two to rig a loss. You can't be the four or five because your chances of getting a rebound to miss has a certain level of randomness. Although you can miss a rebound on purpose, you can't control the number of rebounds coming your way. If your team plays the inside game more often because you are big, then it looks a bit weird to miss a bunch of jams from inside the paint.

I didn't growing up watching basketball, I only started watching when I moved to Canada, and from my very first experience with Playoff Basketball, without really knowing anything about the game, I told my brother "this sport is RIGGED"...

Then later that Ref gets exposed, and I knew, nothing can make me believe that this sport is not rigged on some level...

Why did I initially believe that Playoff Basketball was rigged?

(1) I don't understand teams that are CLEARLY better losing because "it is a road game"....To me it means that either (A) The teams don't take games seriously when they are on the road or (B) there is an unwritten rule in place to extend playoff series and increase revenue or (C) Both and everything else...

(2) For example, Golden State was clearly the best team of the season, they EASILY beat Cleveland at home, and they got CRUSHED away...The game WASN'T even competitive...

I think there is something MORE than just "well they are playing away" at play here....

(3) That is why only watch the 4th Quarter of Elimination Games...I feel like that is the only time a basketball game really matters...
