I've never heard of a woman breaking up with a dude because he's too into sports, it might happen, but if anything they are gonna dress up, go tail gate, or she gonna go sit in the stands with him and eventually become somewhat involved because its socially acceptable and "cool" But lets say he's too into video game tournaments, is she going to be willing to travel, watch him practice and watch him go actually compete :francis: I have heard a many women say they can't deal with a dude that play's video games though...god forbid he actual traveled for them too. RIP

idk.
I have a guy friend who does all the tourneys and comic cons and such. hes single right now. Not lacking for female company at all. Just hasnt found the wife yet.
Not sure if he would want his lady to go with him or not.

My H plays cod and its cool. I dont play. I will watch him a little bit here and there. Let him enjoy himself thats what i think.
matter of fact he just moved the gaming into the mancave and out of the living room this weekend. Now i will have to go hang out in there from time to time.
But i hear hatred of video games by the wife from all races. Ive actually heard women complaining on line for the man to get off the game.

Awkward nerdy types usually don't have enough approaches/experience with the opposite sex to be making any kind of sweeping generalizations about 'all Black women like xyz...'

You would think nerds of all people would understand what a proper sample size is to make a proper statistical analysis, but I guess that all goes out the window when they get in their feelings.

My main issue with self-proclaimed nerds is that they are usually awkward because of anxiety or depression.

The stuff in bold is a pretty sharp observation in my opinion. But I think in a lot of cases the awkwardness is not necessarily due to their anxiety or depression, but the fact that they are unaware of it.

You can probably lump me in there too. At some point I became aware of the fact that I get slightly anxious around people in public settings. But I didn't always know it and until that point I was always lost on why I could talk well with women 1 on 1 but in public settings my speech flutters. But once I realize my thought processes are being altered by my anxiety, I could take a moment to correct myself. that's where I think being aware of it matters. I have a way easier time dealing with it now, I am a more fluid conversationalist in public, more like how I am in private, but I still don't really open up on women in public places. I get way too nervous. I have before, i do still sometimes, but it always feels really really awkward and takes a lot of energy.

I also take issue with the fact that women don't mind getting beaten and slapped around by the guys they are fukking but suddenly a little social awkwardness from a "nerd" is way too much to handle. But whatever.

You have a black woman in the OP who admits to not giving black men she took to be "nerdy" a second glance and yall telling these men they're lying.
Trying to discuss any subject with grey area on the coli is like trying to talk race with white people; nobody is listening but everyone has the answer.
And I still maintain being a "nerd" alone doesn't = a life of solitude.
Some guys who ID as nerds are unattractive or socially awkward. Are there some who aren't given a fair shake early on because their hobbies are unconventional while they themselves are average?
Yeah, but some guys piggybacking off of them are simply guys who flat out aren't attractive.
It's no different than black women who cry on message boards and in the comment sections of Huffington Post articles about the lack of available mates and yet all their friends from college are married.
Black peoples dating lives wouldn't be nearly as agonizing if they could put aside their pride and look in the mirror.

I think social anxiety and depression in the black community needs to be addressed.

I mean, do we get mad at dudes for fukking a bunch of Instathots and then settling down with a "wifey" type?

What's the difference?

You can't even compare the two because a good looking nerdy woman will have just as many options as the thot.
A lot of thugs have women that are seen as wife type.
