WMIC commands... or rather wmi commands are just basic low level windows integrated tools that can be used to find useful system information on the backend without the user knowing. If you are a system admin, they are pretty much pivotal to working on a large number of machines

Powershell is a an extension of the old command line terminal. It is capable of executing strings. Basically... its the medium through which the commands can be executed
