I'm torn on this one.
Without a doubt, Hammer (and Vanilla Ice) were considered sellout pop rappers when they were at the height of their success. :scust:
But on the other hand, they were both rappers, and Hammer was indeed a superstar :yeshrug:
But Flo Rida is a rapper too...so is Pitbull...are we really claiming them though :jbhmm:
To say that MC Hammer and Big Daddy Kane are the same is a simplistic reduction of a difficult question (balance between artistic integrity and getting paid). But the person saying it is a notorious :troll:
Then to say that Wu Tang and Hammer are the same is an even more simplistic reduction from the same notorious :troll:

im not even shytting on mc hammer
BUT comparing him to kane & wu is the most retarded shyt said on here

hammer music or videos wasn't played on hip-hop radio station or hip-hop video shows
i never ever ever heard a hammer joint on Hot97 or video music box
and for those who wanna make it thats a new york thing
i dont recall ever seeing hammer video on rap city or yo MTV raps or being on the cover of the source mag or vibe mag etc... he was a pop artist NOT a hip-hop artist

he was part of that whole late 80's early 90's dance music with hip-hop appeal to it

St. Ides came up off rappers. Had rappers pushing St. Ides while rapping about the "real". I remember Cube saying why is it a liquor store everywhere in the hood but h was St. Ides biggest endorser :smh:
