I don't think you understand how fukked up areas like Sunnydale and Hunter's Point was. The projects there literally ranked the lowest in nationwide in terms of livability indexes. The projects there were military barracks built in the 40's only meant for temporary inhabitants. They just started tearing down these projects in the last 5-10 years. Not sure if it’s anomaly. There’s literally a giant housing project right next to the Brooklyn bridge.
No Mountain View’s but views of all the famous bridges and skyscrapers. Neighbors across the street paying 6K for rent for 1 bedroom
got a breh revamping retirement plans, didnt know about the wildness on the other side thoForreal, in the 80's, 90's and even early 2000's, the murder count for the whole city in 2022 could have been in HP or Lakeview. SF hasn't had a murder count near 100 in like 10 years. The hood element in the Sco has been eradicated. And they want to replicate that level of gentrification in cities like DC too. Hardly any black folk left in the city. The whole Bay gentrified more than something slight. All of the real hittas from the city dead, locked up, moved to the valley or elsewhere or grew the fukk up and on some regular grown man shyt or hustling legally.Hunter's point is Disneyland compared to how it was in the 80's and 90's...
Even thr early 2000.
Hp is literally transformed an gentified, stop bytchin
Didnt Sunnydale get sucked into the hellmouth like 20 years agoHow is it that one of the most notorious housing projects in the state, has one of the most splendid views in the country? Hunters-Point Bayview has a beautiful location. Overlooking the bay, way up in the hills, yet it’s one of more dangerous areas in the Bay Area. Same with Marin City projects. It’s like the Bay Area is so scenic and beautiful that they can’t even find less than scenic land to build housing projects at. Lakeview, Sunnydale, all grimy but scenic. Filmoe not as scenic, but the buildings are historic and beautiful. San Francisco is natural scenery and architecture porn.![]()

Did those black ppl raise the murder rate in other parts of the bay?Forreal, in the 80's, 90's and even early 2000's, the murder count for the whole city in 2022 could have been in HP or Lakeview. SF hasn't had a murder count near 100 in like 10 years. The hood element in the Sco has been eradicated. And they want to replicate that level of gentrification in cities like DC too. But its good that folks in Lakeview can finally live a regular quiet middle class life. Ever since that old Asian lady got murked in the drive by on Broad Street like five years ago, the murder rate has plummeted. Probably because police and more cameras. And more black people moving out every year and being replaced by Asians and whites with money.
Randolph is beautiful. Even with that housing project smack dab in the middle.I wondered the same thing growing up in Lakeview on Randolph Street back in the 80's and early 90's. The view outside my window was crazy looking at the hills in the distance. But back then, you not really spending much time outside unless you wanted to get Ricky'd like Boyz 'N The Hood.Truth be told, Cali hoods as a whole don't look run down like Detroit, Baltimore etc.
But the projects in Frisco in Sunnydale, the Point etc. used to be hella fukked up living conditions. Raw sewage pouring out of buildings and shyt, nikkas living in half burnt down apartments.![]()
What was it like?I worked in hunters point for many years![]()
Eh, I feel like a huge percentage of violence in SF is so tied to turf and territory. That's why nikkas from Sunnydale was still sliding through Lakeview spraying up the block trying to hit whoever was outside like it was still the 90's, when Lakeview been majority Asian since the 2000's. And like I said, when that old Asian lady got murked in 2017 on Broad Street, that was the last straw. I feel like Frisco is like Vegas, what goes on there stays there.Did those black ppl raise the murder rate in other parts of the bay?
Mound buildersWestpoint, Oakdale, Grace Tabernacle. Hunters Point is a world unto its own. Black folks from Louisiana and Texas.

Visited Sausalito for 1st time this summer and that shyt is goalsgot a breh revamping retirement plans, didnt know about the wildness on the other side tho
