I have a back log I actually need to post about.

but tonight I'm just sipping on something easy for Tall Can Saturday.

Beer on the evening is the Hofbrauhaus Helles Lager. ABV is 4.9% The pour was a really pale amber. This a light lager that is just straight to the point light beer. Being a European beer I expected a little bit more to it, but nah, just beer. I'd be hard pressed to even be able to say I could pick it out of a blind taste test with most American Domestic Lagers.

Watching Team USA v Team DR semi-final. Sippin a little heavy on the evening. Went with the Ten Fidy from Oskar Blues Brewery. The style is an Imperial Stout and the ABV is 10.5. Has a nice dark pour very little head. Flavor profile is chocolatey with a kind of coffee finish. The coffee finish is a little bitter, but the overall beer goes down smooth. Very good stout.

Good pick up there. I love their Old Chubb which is a Scottish Ale.

It's Saturday I always showcase a Tall Can. Tonight watching the NCAA Wrestling Championships and have a Fantasy Baseball Draft on Deck. So at least the first beer I'm gonna sip on that fit the bill is from Tox Brewing Co. in a collaboration with Abomination Brewing. Went with the Mochasomniac style is Imperial Stout and the ABV is 11%. This is on the "pastry" side of stouts so typically I find those to be sweet/desert like beers. The pour was very dark the head was easy. main notes are chocolate and vanilla, it has and says there is coffee in it, but something mellows out the coffee. Like there is a hint of it, but it's not bitter or burnt like some coffee infused beers can be. This is probably the first beer I've had from Tox brewing but I've had stuff from Abomination. I'll probably seek out more from Tox though since they seem to be the main label.

It's that time. It's Saturday we need a Tall Can. Tall Can for this evening is the Night Milk Stout from Abomination Brewing Company. Style is a milk stout, the ABV is 7%. This is supposed to be a Vanilla Milk stout, but the vanilla feels a bit light. I'm picking up more of the cocoa flavor in this one. The pour is very thin on head but very dark. The beer itself feels right for a 7% abv, not heavy or boozy, but really smooth and easy drinking. This is the kind of stout that isn't sweet enough to make you think it's a desert beer, and not heavy enough that you're like whew this got some heft. I will say this is another win in my stout picks for 2026. If you see em pick em up.

Pokes around

BUMP

Little Wednesday night Dynamite AND beer day at the spot on the way home from work. So I picked up some tings.

Beer on the night was the 40th Anniversary Commemorative Brew from Abita Brewing. The style is a Honey Blonde Ale. ABV is 8% and I will say that 8% doesn't feel it. So this will definitely sneak you cause they go down like a basic lager/ale. That said the 8% is what is off about the flavor profile. It's got that little bit of something that them Malt Liquors/Ice Beers have.

Like this pours a perfect Honey Gold color fitting of an honey ale. But, the honey notes just aren't really there. And I think that is because of the ABV. I feel if this was a 5% it would be sweet and malty on the finish. Instead it's kind of dull on the finish with hints of honey and that little kick on the back that his is a heavy ABV beer.

I still think if you see it you should pick it up. But, it could've been better.
