"Has Convinced the Internet" has become the lowest bar in history. :francis:

That being said, it was clearly "Berenstein" and I ain't even care who changed it cause there's no way I'm fukking with shyt on that level. :hubie:

Start talking too much and next morning Coli brehs wake up like, "Was there a rhakim that used to post here? I thought I remember someone like that. Oh well." :merchant:

I remember it specifically being an "A" cuz I thought it was weird to spell it like that. This was when I was a kid in the 80's.

I swore it was with an "e" but as a kid I never had to use "stein" anywhere else. As I grew up , knowing all the jewish last names with "stein", I could see how I could have misconceived the spelling.

I always remembered the "A", specifically. :cpagehubie:
I remember going to the library as a kid and seeing Berenstain Bears books; I remember thinking "That's a weird way to spell that..." :bppatrice:

Here's my theory:

-The "Berenstain/Berenstein controversy has nothing to do with parallel universes. It has everything to do with how much human memory sucks.

-Memories can be susceptible to subtle manipulation. It may be harder to alter more concrete details, but it's possible to convince someone of a false memory.

(Example: you have clear memories of going to the beach as a kid and eating ice cream on the boardwalk...but was it ice cream or gelato? Didn't it taste different from normal ice cream to you? Remember the "first" time you had gelato as an adult...didn't you remember that time on the beach almost immediately?:bppatrice: )

-Names that are similar to Berenstain--mostly European Jewish names--usually end with the spelling of "-stein" (Epstein, Weinstein, Rosenstein, Einstein). I can't really think of any other name I've seen that ends in "-stain" like Berenstain. It seems like an aberration. :bpohh:
Agent

I would have never fukked with a book by that other name, a youngin was too fly to be fukkin with a stain :hhh:

New York
*Disney World – Some people recall taking a monorail from the Orlando airport directly to the Disney World property.
*Fred Rogers’ song, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” – Is the opening line “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood” or “It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood”? (It’s “this.” See Won't You Be My Neighbor? (Song) - The Mister Rogers' Neighborhood Archive and .)
*Jif Peanut Butter – Or was it first “Jiffy” peanut butter?
Looney Tunes or Looney Toons?
Louie Anderson – Alive and well now, but his death at some point in the past.
*Sex and the City – Was it “Sex in the City” when it first aired? That’s an alternate memory many people recall.
Shirley Temple — Death prior to 10 Feb 2014.
Mystery Science Theater — Variations of the numbers following show name (mostly 2000 or 3000, but a few recall 4000).
Henry VIII — Famous portrait of him holding a turkey leg? Reports that it’s not in this timestream.
Ghost Hunters TV show — Some remember the earliest show name as TAPS, not Ghost Hunters
Geography — Locations and sizes of New Zealand. Locations of Australia, Honduras, Japan, Manchuria, and more.

:mindblown::wtf:

can i get feedback on some of the above:lupe:

The Louie Anderson thing hit me right between the eyes! I swore I was the only one. He was a frequent guest on Hollywood Squares as well as his blassic performance in Coming to America during my childhood. I swore I heard a news report he was dead. And he never showed his face on any entertainment after that. Then I went to Vegas in the early 2000s and saw he was the resident comedian at a hotel. I said, "Wow I thought he was dead?!"
