also being from the South (Georgia) , I remember it being spelled "Chic-Fil-A" ... Not "Chick-Fil-A". I remember being in highs hool and there was one located across the street and always thinking it was weird that it was spelt without a "k", now all of a sudden there's a fukking "k" in there...

It's both. I think our memories were conditioned by the cartoons and audio books and the way they pronounced it. I remember reading the books when I was young and thinking wtf, they spelled it wrong.

But the name WAS Berenstein. They changed their names to be more acceptable because Jews didn't get treated like gods back when these books were first gaining popularity.
