On some real shyt joe budden was by far the best rapper when mood music 2 dropped and as much as I hate Wayne he was the best rapper for longer then a year

Jeezy dropped a masterpiece in 05 with 101 but Best Rapper Alive
Wayne was also better than TI in 2004
This List already negated with Jeezy Ever being the best rapper alive - I could see this as a "MTV's hottest MC List through each Year"

take away the corny "best rapper alive" title, and theyre absolutely correct.
jeezy was by far the man in 2005, and we havnt seen a solo run like that since. and at the rate hip-hop is going, we never will again.

no argument on the best rapper alive thing. i never liked the "best rapper alive" bullchit at all. it never made sense. the best rapper alive is rakim.
but we can only go by the premise of the list when discussing it. and the bottom line is, nobody was coming close to touching jeezy that year.

Dude changed hiphop had every rapper change their style in someway and TM101 was perhaps not the best album (Kanye dropped LR and Common dropped Be). But he had the biggest influence on hiphop in perhaps the whole decade after Wayne and Kanye with that album (and the mixtape game, to make mixtapes sound like albums), gave Dj Drama a real platform and on.
One could give it to Kanye cause he obviously made the best album of the year and produced the second best but Jeezy was too powerful, like DMX in the late 90s but a bigger impact on music. DMX did not make best albums but he ran the streets, had a large impact on the game, killed that soft/glossy shyt and on.
