important to remember Aiyuk was the prototype of what ultimately became 'Kyle don't play rookies'. Homie got thrown in the doghouse because he 'wouldn't block' while Deebo out there running from contact.
I'm unsurprised because it always seemed like him and Kyle ain't fukk with each other like that fr fr. Reminder that Aiyuk's production spiked on the Purdy switch because of Brock's late-window, mid-field target playstyle meshing; not necessarily because it was designed to be him. Most of the plays during that big year BA had, he definitely was not the first or even second read. Even as he passed 1k, I can rarely remember a game of him being the intended feature, and damn sure not with McCaccy on the field.
Just seemed like a situation doomed for failure if nothing more than because this coach is always going to see WRs as after TE and RB for the pass in a perfect system. And at his worst, Aiyuk was a top flight #2 WR. Which means shyt if your #1 WR ain't even the leader for receptions.
Real talk, if he goes to PIT opposite Metcalf I think that'd be a problem. He is a premiere route-runner to compliment a physical WR forcing teams to decide how to cover the dichotomy. But with Pearsall the heir apparent for #1 in SF, it's just redundancy. This ain't the right fit.
...I'mma say this and no one will like it but on mamas I am
not wrong: off-season trade of Aiyuk for AJ Brown would probably make both teams better
