I guess ill be different and say this was fire to me. The Freddy comparisons isnt really that bad but for a movie that wasnt necessary it did a great job of being a sequel and prequel. I went into both movies not expecting much and ended up liking them. To anybody going ill say watch the 1st one again. The cinematography was dope too

Blumhouse with another one :skip: I wasn’t the biggest fan of the first one, but I respected the idea, especially when I treated it as a thriller, rather than horror. I’m just not a big fan of most Stephen King works, and you could tell he had his DNA in that script.

This one is just a studio script where you could tell they had no reason for it to exist, other than capitalizing on the first one (and previous horror) for some bread. Probably about halfway through, I literally asked myself, “Why does this movie exist?”, and viewed the rest of it through that lens. I mean, without spoiling, nothing really happens. They upped the gore, violence, and language, but it didn’t really amount to anything.

I’m not even gonna get into the blatant Elm Street biting.

It was a true 6-7 for me, where I wouldn’t have been mad if I waited to catch it at the crib, but I’m also not mad I paid matinee prices. The filmmaking was very creative, and the performances had some highs and lows.

This movie was good to me. I went in with no expectations, just like the first, and was surprised. However, you can tell it was made solely because the first was a hit. They had no clue where to take it, but I do like how they took small moments from the first and elevated them. Even though it did lead them to Freddy. But had it been Freddy, there would've been far more kills. Matter of fact... Perhaps the 3rd will take a different direction.

Now a 3rd would be ridiculous because this one wrapped up the story of this family. It would have to be a whole new killer

Yeah but they've at least set up that Finny & Gwen will have to deal with these gifts/curses going forward and could explore that. They didn't paint themselves into a complete corner like they did before.

The V/H/S Segment "Dreamkill" is supposed to be in the same universe. They talk about the little girl and her mom in the movie.

I might got Tuesday but I'm not sure:patrice:
