First time I listened online when it leaked online the week before it’s release I called it 5 MIC’s. I was like OH shyt when it actually got 5 Mic’s in The Source. Remarkable album & even tho I was already blown away by the time I got to Renegade, when I heard that track I was Buggin out. Definitely a top 5 album all-time for me.
if I’m not mistaken Life After Death was the last five mic album before the Blueprint

It was a 4 year gap between 5 mic albums, but it was a two month gap between the next two 5 mic albums

great times

Whoever said this album might have the most quotables might be right. Revisited the album a few times since the anni and it caught me off guard how I knew almost all the words. I must’ve played this album unit the CD broke. I still have the blue tinted CD case/cover. Looking back for me this was a return to form for Jay. I didn’t care much for vol3 or dynasty, compared to vol2 those weren’t as good. But on here Jay made damn near a perfect album that was praised in real time. The production still sounds bliss and it’s just one of the best crafted rap albums musically ever. “Jigga That nikka” probably the only weak joint on here but I still know the words.
