it shouldn’t take this many words to explain this. :mjlol:

I do agree with this aspect of her quote tho…but what’s done is done and I do not expect the celtics to be reaching out to her and looking to comfort her after the fact

Okay so the Celtics were going to suspend the coach that took them to the finals with no explanation given? BTW Shams and Woj both tweeted why Ime was suspended before the Celtics even put it out. They probably got the tip from the team but even if they didn’t get it from the team a team employee or a players agent was going to blow the whistle. No way this was going to stay “Private”.

It's looking like a blessing in disguise for the Celtics.

Udoka is more of a throwback, and Mazzulla is of a new-generation of coaches that has a more innovative approach on offense and it's unlocked the team. The prioritization of getting out on the break and making quick decisions has been a difference maker.
I don't think you can make any judgment about the effectiveness of either's coaching right now.

They are just a talented team that made the finals with a fairly young core that got better with a chip on their shoulder since they took a L in the finals.

If anything them playing this well after coaching change on short notice cheapens the impact of coaching on the game

There's a noticeable difference to how the team is approaching offense this season. They're not playing the same way.

- they're trending to be one of the most dominant offenses in NBA history
- they're one of the best transition teams this season; they were one of the worst last season (Mazzulla has made this a point of emphasis)
- they're #1 in shot generation; they were only league-average last season
- #1 in points created to turnover rate
- #1 in spacing
- Smart has turned into a legitimate playmaker (Mazzulla has made adjustments to how he runs the offense)
- Mazzulla has spoken about the importance of stamping 3-pt release actions on every possession (with Horford at the 5, it's opened up the floor even more)

Now, of course, this has a lot to do with coming off a Finals run and the experience/hunger that comes with it, but anyone that has been actively watching them over the past two seasons can see the offense is considerably different. The ability was always there with this squad, they just needed someone to give them a platform to realize it. It's not like Mazzulla has reinvented them as players, he's just maximized what they already have.

Did the woman's name ever get leaked anywhere? Watching the Celtics game now and suddenly thought of this.

It ain't too late for the Celtics' front office to apologize to Ime and bring him back.
