I'm in LA right now on vacation, born and raised. Lived in North Hollywood for almost 10 yrs, south central the yrs before that. I travel a lot and I always appreciate cali after a few months from it.

The weather, the women, the liberal attitude, the medical dispensaries, the night life, culture, the food, and the landscape. Last year I lived in Vancouver and was miserable. I live in China now, it's coo because I live in a beach town that reminds me of san diego, but it still doesn't beat LA. Only thing that's wack about cali is the real estate prices, and lack of jobs, other than that, it's cool. I couldn't imagine living any where else except maybe Miami.

I gotta go back to China in 2 weeks Imma be like it's 45F in Nov, while it's 80F in california, I'm going with a half empty suitcase because my clothes here ain't gonna cut it out there. Last winter was my first time wearing gloves, a big ass jacket, long jons, shyt was weird. When its 'cold' in cali you just wear a hoodie

I feel like the OP. Im in Jersey and that winter weather is creeping up on our asses. I spoke to a couple folks and they really sold me on that San Diego dream. I even had a dream where my girl was like "Babe, lets just move. I can't stay in Jersey anymore." For whatever reason, despite my hesitations IRL, in my dream I answered with an immediate "Okay." I think I'm ready to enjoy the Cali Lifestyle!

Dont believe the hype. Cali is not that expensive if you know how to manage your money. You may have to downgrade slightly. I only pay 300 more in rent than i was in atlanta for my apartment. But owning a home isnt on my to do list right now since its just me and my dog. I will say finding a pet friendly place was hard for me. Gas is expensive as fukk though. And everything is so far you can easily burn through a tank a day if you like to go out alot. But if you move to west la you wont have to venture out as much. If cheap rent is a concern move to the inland empire its like an hour from la proper though.

Everyone is not a liberal hippie there is alot of subtle racism. Depending on where you are the mexican vs black thing is real. La is not a black city and most of the events that cater to young blacks are ghetto. If you like to dance to david guetta and shyt then youll be fine.

Good paying Jobs are def hard to come by esp with no degree unless you have alot of connects. You better know how to hustle if you wanna live good. One thing i do like about la is the oppurtunities. Ive started 3 new hustles since i been here and my network has grown alot.

Food is amazing. This may sound crazy but the best burgers be at the little fast food hole in the wall spots. Whatever you wanna eat you can find. The weed is amazing of course. Good prices too.

i'm fiendin for the california lifestyle right now, I don't know why I just am. I need to get the fukk outta the east coast, its driving me nuts that winter chill is in the air now and I don't know if I can survive another winter here. I need that sunny lifestyle, that bytches-in-bikinis-in-january lifestyle

cali just has that natural beautiful landscape that a new york can never have, I mean what type of place has a fukkin canyon right in the middle of a mega-metropolis

I'm sick of this heat too.. I wanna wear some winter sh*t. Might take a trip back to Chicago or New York after the holidays in January.

-and what Cali lifestyle are you folks talking about? LA, Bay Area, San Diego, Central Valley?? all of them are different with the Central Valley(Bakersfield, Fresno, Sac) being the least sexy. You gotta have money though if you're talkin' about The Bay or LA if you really want to enjoy those areas
