Dont believe the hype. Cali is not that expensive if you know how to manage your money. You may have to downgrade slightly. I only pay 300 more in rent than i was in atlanta for my apartment. But owning a home isnt on my to do list right now since its just me and my dog. I will say finding a pet friendly place was hard for me. Gas is expensive as fukk though. And everything is so far you can easily burn through a tank a day if you like to go out alot. But if you move to west la you wont have to venture out as much. If cheap rent is a concern move to the inland empire its like an hour from la proper though.

Everyone is not a liberal hippie there is alot of subtle racism. Depending on where you are the mexican vs black thing is real. La is not a black city and most of the events that cater to young blacks are ghetto. If you like to dance to david guetta and shyt then youll be fine.

Good paying Jobs are def hard to come by esp with no degree unless you have alot of connects. You better know how to hustle if you wanna live good. One thing i do like about la is the oppurtunities. Ive started 3 new hustles since i been here and my network has grown alot.

Food is amazing. This may sound crazy but the best burgers be at the little fast food hole in the wall spots. Whatever you wanna eat you can find. The weed is amazing of course. Good prices too.
100% accurate.

BTW I prefer SanFran over LA, but don't listen to me I like that abstract open minded shyt. Do whatever the fukk you wanna do, dress be who ever you want to be. SanFran is hands down the most liberal city in America, you could sport a pink mohawk and nobody would give a fukk, in fact you'd probably get props just because you're 'different'. I love weird shyt and art, problem is SanFran is PRICEY AS fukk :ohlawd:.

VA. Living in the City of Angels

That's my hood. Lived off Vineland and Oxnard. In fact I was just over there chillin with my old roommates last weekend. Going next week to a halloween party.

Check out the comedy shows off Lankershim and Magnolia.

Feels good to be back home.

Word, I stay just north of there near Vineland and Vanowen. How long did you stay out here?

And good lookin out on the comedy thing, I actually do a little standup so I'm going to be hitting open mics soon. Is the spot you're talking about the HaHa Comedy Cafe?

It's 93 degrees down here in Southern Kali today :ohlawd:

Y'all can have this shyt. I haven't been cold not one time in 2012 :merchant:

:russ: It was 75 degrees in Sacramento today and there's people over here mad that it's not cooler for late October :what:

Yeah, the cost of living sucks if you live in the Bay Area or San Diego. Other than that, its straight as long as you can land a good job. I'm working on that myself right now.

There's the haha club but theres a couple of dive ones, one is next to starbucks right on lankershim diagonal of Pitfire. I used to play pool at the spot next to it as well. I lived there from 2002 - 2010. You should also check out an italian spot called Victorio's off Victory and Vineland, on Victory right next door to the 99 cent store. BOMB pasta and spumoni, trust.

Lankershim is pretty much the place to be, lot of young upcoming black comedians, I seen Affron there a few times, in fact most of us are all at the Noho Barbershop (theres only 2 now) so you meet a gang of coo folks there.

Stay away from anything north of victory....that's where the cholos be, and not all of them are friendly lol.

No they're this weekend, AND on Halloween AND next weekend lol. This is Los Angeles. :yeshrug:
