For NBC (Nuclear-Biological-Chemical) scenarios, we had people with fake blood coming from various places to simulate the effects of different chemicals/injuries. Also, how do you know they were even firing REAL rounds when blanks sound exactly the same? ​

Because in military training they have those red squares that you screw in to block the barrel. You cant even do simulations without them while training. There is nothing on those barrels in that video posted in the OP.
