Tomlins issue is that he makes the team overachieve in regular season and often the team has no biz being in playoffs...

but he also is conservative old school so theres never some crazy spark that he can pull out of his ass :dame: to have the other team surprised

steelers either need to get better players or be less predictable

YOU NEED A QB..AND YOU NEED YOUR STARS TO MAKE PLAYS.. OURS DO NOT MAKE PLAYS.

San Antonio Holmes made plays in 2008
Troy Polamalu made plays in 2008
Big Ben made plays in 2005 and 2008.

Players have a to step up especially your star players and the Steelers star players have not.

TJ Watt stat line yesterday was 0 in every category..that's crazy. That shyt can't happen and you expect to win playoff games. Minkah no big plays. Coaching is done thru the week when them lights come on players have to come up big

He hasn’t had a star QB since about 2016. Yet he overachieves with average to decent QB play. Never having a losing season is nothing to sneeze at either.
Defense :dahell:

That's how he's kept on having winning seasons with mediocre players.

Nobody, saw Steelers being ahead of Bengals based on their squads this year. They would've probably been ahead of Baltimore too if they hadn't lost their WR1 or WR-everything. But still lost yesterday of course.
But their defense plays like ahit in the playoffs though

Also He needs to send a check to Santonio Holmes every week. The fact that he needed an all time drive to beat arguably the worst superbowl team in History is embarrassing.

A lot has been made about how they haven’t won a playoff game in awhile, but if you actually break down his playoff wins they aren’t really that impressive.

not really if you realize the ravens ran the ball a fukkton

your star edge pass rusher will always be very quiet in these type of games

JJ Watt and Chris Jones could have impact in these type of games because they play a position that demands more run support

not trying to cape for TJ or anything

There are tons of other ways to impact the game besides sacks. Batted balls forced fumbles being disruptive in the run game.. having zero impact in a playoff game for a player of his caliber is not an option

what Im saying is he is best when rushing the qb off the edge. hes not the type of a guy who constantly can set the edge and get tackles in space...

theres an old saying in football that the best way to neuter pass rush is to run the ball well

Being a defensive minded team and crying about having no shot against another team's offense is crazy.

My biggest concern with the Steelers is that they have no means to get a good veteran QB, never draft high and Tomlin needs a good OC to develop a rookie. They either need to get extremely lucky, or will be stuck as a treadmill team forever.

I don't know why he'd even want to coach there anymore, what's the 2025 plan?

He is definitely good at setting the edge.. yes his best asset is rushing the passer but TJ is an all-around LB. He just didn't do shyt yesterday and this isn't the first time. Either he hurt or doesn't make an impact. Minkah is another no impact. And these are your veteran stars.
