Yeah that's an ugly number, but looking back... was he really supposed to win games with a washed Big Ben? A washed Russ? Mason Rudolph? Justin Fields?

The last playoff game where they lost and I thought Tomlin did a bad job was that divisional game vs the Jags. They should've never lost that game.

Why can other coaches win playoff games with mediocre to trash QBs but not Tomlin

Or just upset other teams in the playoff period.

Problem is, people forget that this was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Steelers. Its almost like the worst thing Tomlin did was go 10-3 and get hopes up.

But we were universally considered the worst team in the division by a long shot, and somehow outperformed. :manny:

How many coaches are winning against the likes of i.) Mahomes, ii.) Josh Allen, iii.) Lamar Jackson, and iv.) Burrow?

And those that are- how many are doing it with non-franchise QB's?

Only difference between Harbaugh and Tomlin is the Ravens had the foresight/faith to gamble on Lamar and move on from their Superbowl winning QB while the Steelers let Ben stay 3 years longer than he should have which has set them back several years.

There hasn't been a single great QB prospect available for the Steelers since they passed on him.

Again, which of those games were the Steelers supposed to win?

On the road vs Lamar and the Ravens?
On the road vs Allen and the Bills(with fukking Mason Rudolph at QB for them?)
On the road vs Mahomes and the Chiefs?

You wanna give him grief for losing the home game vs the Browns in 2020(when an old ass Big Ben threw 4 picks).... I guess.

I'm just not sure how their playoff woes are directly linked to him recently.

I saw Rex Ryan go into foxboro and beat a historically great Patriots team with Marc Sanchez a week after beating Peyton manning in Indy.

Part of being a great coach is winning playoff games you’re not supposed to. Again I saw Rex Ryan go into foxboro and beat a better team than Mike Tomlin ever has with Marc Sanchez at QB.

Has Mike Tomlin ever upset another team in the playoffs? Why can he only win when he’s favored?

Tom Coughlin made a career of this shyt. How is he supposed to beat a 18-0 team?

The problem with Tomlin is that he massively underachieved even when he did have a HOF QB so I don’t really buy that excuse.

With Ben, He lost at home to David Garrard in 07, lost to Tebow and a 8-8 broncos team in 11, Lost to Flacco at home in 2014, Lost to the 10-6 Blake Bortles led Jags in 2017

You are right that Tomlin has not had a signature upset victory in the playoffs. I just think when you blame Tomlin you're oversimplifying something that requires a bit more nuance than that to view correctly.

And I'm someone who thinks that Tomlin should go. After 17 years, he's run his course there.

The Steelers have won 2 Super Bowls in the last 45 years. The idea about this standard of excellence like they're the Lakers, or Celtics or Yankees is cap.

Replace Steelers with Saints and Ben with Brees, and Sean P. should have done the underlined when he had the chance to do so :francis:
