What were Curry, Klay, and Giannis in the draft? Like 9th, 12th, and 15th. Right around the position the Hornets find themselves in every year.

You don't have to have a top five pick to land the kind of superstar who can make your team competitive enough to attract free agent talent and make yourself a contender.

But what you do have to have is the guts to take risks on people who may not fit the mold.

I think this, above all else, is where the Hornets fall short.

What's been the defining characteristic of their last few draft picks? They've all been traditional players from well-known American basketball schools.

Washington, Monk, MKG - Kentucky
Bridges - MSU
Vonleh, Zeller - Indiana
Felton, M. Williams- UNC
E. Okafor, Walker- UConn

(And these are just the ones I can think of)

I think you gotta look outside the normal to find the next game changer. And the Hornets just seem afraid to do that.

TYRONE GA!
Michael Jordan is the owner, and evidence is mounting that playing basketball is perhaps the only thing he was ever good at.

The nice thing about growing up a Blazer fan is that you knew you had an owner who would do anything to get a winning team. Even if it didn't quite work out, at least he was trying.

:mjpls: ain't in the game for that.

Larry Brown handicapped the franchise early on. Then the bickerstaffs. Team needs a wholesale change from management and coaching and they need to have the same vision. Until then the team will always struggle with MJ makinggamble picks on strange players.

Carolina
its that time of the year for knicks, wolves, and suns fans to form like voltron and take shots at us to keep the heat off their decrepit franchises :snooze:

never even had a #1 overall pick.... while teams out here picking anthony bennett, trading kristaps for julius randle, and giving john wall 50 million a year to put howard students through grad school

but okay :unimpressed: lets try to keep the narratives straight and consistent this time around at least

Not even a charlotte fan but Ill never forgive them for that dumbass kaminsky pick, i still dont kno what the fukk they were thinkin
The Suns owe the Hornets a big thank you.

Ryan McDonough wanted to draft Kaminsky

That year, but had to settle for Devin Booker

Once the Hornets snatched him up:mjgrin:
