I hate this classical liberal term. its almost a nicer way of saying libertarian and I always get the racist vibe from them too

I call Libertarians "embarrassed Republicans".

Their economic theories also seem to come from a flawed understanding of capitalism and the role of socialist programs in a democratic, capitalist society.

The thinly veiled arrogance and pretension that oozes from someone calling themselves a classical liberal, as if covering themselves with the cloak of 17th century philosophers and political theorists is some novel and profound concept that affords them the right to be treated as superior, is always obnoxious.

It's just another way for people to wave their faux superiority at others. A way to scream "I AM BETTER AND MORE INTELLIGENT THAN YOU".

Libertarianism for the meme crowd (which, coincidentally, is also the libertarianism of the meme crowd).

Good video. I disagree with a few minor points, but I think the basic argument is sound. The problem, as I see it, is people using Classical Liberalism in a 21st century context. Classical Liberalism is a historical term, and one that should maintain it's historical definition because it is the foundational ideology for Liberal society, which all Americans, by agreeing to be American, should be in favor of.

When we lose the historical understanding of Classical Liberalism, I think the possibility of descending into Fascism from it becomes possible (like the video suggests). When we understand the historical definition of Classical Liberalism, though, its obvious that from it's most basic premise it is opposed to both Fascism and Communism (which didn't exist when Classical Liberalism was forming into a coherent ideology).

A quick aside - one thing this guy does that I think is counterproductive is cast off Fascism as some sort of crackpot scheme. There's a coherence to Fascism, particularly in a society that has lived through mass starvation, and is being kept in a state of depression by other societies. America is very much the opposite of that, but people are often more persuaded by their fears than by their reality - hence neo-Fascism in America. Even a basic understand of Fascism, though, makes it obvious that it is directly opposed to free speech/thought/expression, which these Alt Righters seem to place as their most sacred of rights.

Also, there's really no such thing as a Classical Liberal today. You could even argue that there never was.
All Liberals are Progressive Liberals. It's more just a sliding scale of exactly how progressive you are. Once you move into Marxism or Fascism, you are no long Liberal (if you are actually using the terms properly).

For months and months the media were riding his dikk, praising him and talking about his success specially his Space X project, but when one publication dared to report about the terrible conditions in his Tesla factories or the fact that he doesn't allow his employees to unionize, his ego couldn't handle being criticized and he went into insane meltdown on Twitter.

Remember this is the same guy that told his black employees who were complaining about the racist environment in his company to suck it up and accept an apology.

You want links to the stories media reported about Tesla that get Musk mad?

You can Google Tesla factory condition and Tesla union, you will find plenty of links.
