I mean clipse was only a “factor” like the summer of 2002 and we had like prime Jay DMX Nas During that time. Again, it’s not just the NY rappers, they wasn’t popping like that down south either.

They were never a big enough deal to “hate” on. Some people just don’t like their music.
One of those names don’t belong

stop this shyt lol

Am I bugging but the Lox are not a duo lol, seen them mentioned in here a few times

This here.

There's been three dudes in the group for 31 years, but online, people swear there's only two.

is Clipse even rated that highly outside of the internet?

This what I was getting at.

It's like me saying Cormega is overrated because there's dudes on here who think he’s better than Nas and Prodigy. But that's an opinion held by a handful of superstans, in the wider world he's underrated.

I don't think I ever heard someone in the real world rank Clipse above Outkast, Dogg Pound, Mobb Deep, 8Ball & MJG, UGK, Run-DMC and groups like that.

Funny you say this, because the only time I ever hear Mega's name brought up, is online.

Some artists have those type of followings. For dudes like him, it's kinda always been like that.

Dead ass, why is Clipse thought of so highly? Somebody break it down. Because Lord Willing and Grindin was a long time ago
Convinced people that they coke raps where something other than coke raps. How they did this I have no clue.

On the internet, anytime something is really popular or gaining attention, a contrarian sub culture forms to soak up the engagement from the opposite view.

This is the internet. Instead of focusing on what you like, people take what someone else likes and does dissertations on subjects they claim to not like or care about.

Nowhere in life do people focus on things they do not like or care about more than on the internet. It’s an unnatural instinct to contrarianism created by the incessant need for engagement.

People that are not interesting or engaging have found a new life in just disagreeing with the masses as a personality trait. It’s annoying.

And I don't want to say Clipse is exactly the same because they reached a way larger audience and still do. But they also one of the artists that don't got the biggest fanbase, but their fanbase got a high percentage of diehards.

I seen the debate on here that Pusha fumbled the Neptunes and Kanye plugs because he ain't a multi-platinum seller. In actuality he played the game right even with the label drama. Made exactly the type of music he wanted to without much compromise. Gave those producers some of their most acclaimed projects. Built a loyal fanbase that's still with him 20+ years in. And made more money than a lot of rappers that sold more but nowadays are stuck doing 32 part interviews with Vlad.
