Lord Willing kinda patchy but has one of the GOAT beats ever in Grindin.

Hell Hath No Fury is a production masterwork though :wow: Just banger after banger. And like any well structured album it starts and ends strong.
(Nightmares)

That said I remember when coked up Pitchfork hipsters were on the Clipse HEAVY. It was kinda weird. They get promoted more than other groups due to the Pharrell/Kanye affiliation, and Pusha has a marketable (and I hate this word) "aesthetic". The high fashion shyt he be on, basically ASAP Rocky's Dad. Pusha and Malice are definitely above average rappers tho, both top 100, not top 50.
It's the total package that's better than either of the parts. When you get them both together over the Pharrell/Neptunes beats it's just a crazy ass combo that's doper than any of the 3 of them individually.

Like, I agree they're maybe not top 50 and are just top 100, but IMO you can be top 100 and still be a top 10 duo. I have them in my top 10 duos. I don't know if I have them in my top 10 groups overall, but they're close.

Clipse have not made the same album twice even if the subject matter and tropes are always the same

There is a level of craft to the projects they drop... They understand visuals, branding and merch/fashion and how a pulse on that keeps you relevant to a degree

The music is always cohesive or centered around a concept

If they were wack, they woulda been out of here by now
100% true all this

When Clipse was a factor, New York was propping up a bunch of average rappers with a fraction of their lyrical and technical skills rapping about the same subject matter. So this point don't hold up.

Not a coincidence Dip Set stans tend to be some of the biggest Clipse haters.
You see it.

Clipse are besties with Pharrell, though. He's basically the 3rd member of the group.

Right. It's like saying if NWA didn't have Dre. Wu-Tang didn't have RZA. Cash Money didn't have Mannie Fresh. Pointless discussion because they did.

And before anyone freak out, I ain't putting Clipse on that level. But there's a reason Clipse is still here generating conversation in 2025 and Philly's Most Wanted plus every other artist the Neptunes tried to put on is long gone.

You just yapping now. Like I said you got me confused bc I’m not talking about whatever you talking about

Edit: oh you was the one talking about Lox in a thread about duos. Got it :mjlol:
So again, nobody is in here saying The Lox is a duo and rap crews have been compared to each other regardless of the number of members not being the same :mjlol:

On the internet, anytime something is really popular or gaining attention, a contrarian sub culture forms to soak up the engagement from the opposite view.

This is the internet. Instead of focusing on what you like, people take what someone else likes and give dissertations on subjects they claim to not like or care about.

Nowhere in life do people focus on things they do not like or care about more than on the internet. It’s an unnatural instinct to contrarianism created by the incessant need for engagement.

People that are not interesting or engaging have found a new life in just disagreeing with the masses as a personality trait. It’s annoying.

Very well said!

bro really called himself Mr. Sniffles and made people think that there was some more depth there lol.
Then when they manager legit turned out to be moving weight and got locked up one of them stopped rapping about drugs completely :mjlol:

It don't get no faker than that :mjlol:

Rap about nothing but drugs that you aint never sold

Have your manager get locked up for really selling the drugs you rap about

Have one member completely stop rapping about drugs cause he to shook of what might happen :mjlol:

This is like when it came out that Rick Ross was a CO, he just stopped rapping about drugs and guns cause he was to scared :mjlol:

Fakeness on a level I can barely comprehend but somehow they pushed through :pachaha:

Now address that same manager gettin' out of jail and saying Clipse was really about that life since you put so much weight into him & his story/life lol...
