Always
The pen is a weapon. I keep a strong writing hand.

I am, distraught I believe the word is.

How can I word it? I wonder what the word is.

A laugh and smile mask my aim. I aim to destroy my enemy which is my identity.

Is it suicide, or is it going home? I don't know, but I know I don't want to die.

I'm like an unfinished work of art. I don't know where I'm going but I've started heading there. I am the last of us.

And I'm okay with that.

I have a lot of stuff a wrote over the years that I lost:mjcry:. I started writting again a few months ago. He is one of my poets

Black Love

When I say I have a Black Heart
I’m not saying I’m cold or evil
What that mean is
I have love for my people
Black Love
We don’t see enough of
But you have to understand
That was never part of the plan
For over 400 years of our history
Black L.O.V.E.
Has not been easy
It must of been difficult
To get attached
When at any given moment
Your loved one could get snatched
We were degraded
Our women were raped
And even some of our men
I mean the shyt was sadistic
When trying to decide what to do
They must have been conflicted
Protect your family
Or try to survive
Choose self respect
Or staying alive
So we had to keep
Lying/ lion away
That mean many of us
Lost our pride
Over time
Some started believing the inferior lie
And it was passed down like 3rd and 9
although our people are strong because
We continuously lift a heavy weight
But it hard to have Black Love
When everything we see
Enforce Black hate
We still following
That old Willie Lynch trick
Instead of the power structure
It’s each other we fight against
When Black men
and black women
argue about who has it worse
It is silly debate
That’s like asking if
you rather get hit by
A typhoon or an earthquake
Either way the outcome
Is devastation if you don’t have
a solid foundation in place
it’s a mistake to think
We not all on the slave ship
So how can we judge each other
When we both the plaintive
Black Love is all we really have
And you can’t be whole
Without your other half
Remember make it sacred
If not
collectively
we will Forever be
Actors in a low budget B movie
That permitting in a lower cast

Charlotte by way of Chucktown What
Silence

louder than life
it speaks volumes,
screams infinite words into a vacuum of opportunity.
a golden fleece covering the ear of Mother Nature's tongue;
a presence felt by marked absence.
louder than life
it echoes in consciousness;
a cold breeze in heated moments,
a fire stoked in polarizing intent.
louder than life
it whispers of hope,
in the language of our better nature;
it murmurs of death
in the voice of the enormity of humanity.
insightful words blind to the ear
heartfelt thoughts numb to expression
a future gift lost to an unwrapped present.
a symbol of reverence to the dead,
a caricature of communication to the living,
louder than life.
its song will always be
heard.

I write haiku. Here are a few

black queens shine brighter
I'm told strong black men are rare
I'm told to stay true
In college, queens condescend
Self loathing craves lighter skin

a threat after dark
your fear of my skin cuts deep
hue anxieties

strongest hue - raw flesh
darker than my tainted thoughts
native royalty
vivid dreams of our goosebumps
embodiment - loyalty

leaves look straight at me
their hue sharp as razor blades
cutting my sad ties

dark hooks in resting
subverted by wise challenge
fresh air motivates
is this even meant to be
my road keeps getting longer

two tongues, one aura
what's lost in my translation...
is found in their smile

long timeline repeat
links null in four calendars
friends are my receipt

bits of carefree - rolled
shards of photosynthesis
self serve sedation

moss grows in absence
more views of impermanence
time will destroy all

stone from prior year
water runs along - degrades
patience much alike

focus falls apart
leaves detach - leaving me lost
the wind can persuade

long years in exile
rebuild walls for intrusions
warm blood - illusions
