The good life 😎
An entire province in Canada where 45% of the population can't speak English and in past decades that percentage was three times lower:dwillhuh:

That's like having New Jersey speaking a whole nother language while the US speaks English. Imagine driving from NYC and having to put on Google Translate:mjlol:

How do Canadian brehs think about this?

And why is Québec not an independent country?
It has to do with France's history in Canada. There was a lot of bullshyt wars fought between the British, French, and the Natives doing run-ins on different groups. What gets me is that there was a time when they wanted to become their own country and join with France and France told them to fukk off. It doesn't help that Parisian French is different from Canadian French which makes things funnier.

In any case, be wary of Montreal, all the fukkery seems to occur there. Seriously, whole mafia style gangs and killings there. But still, imagine being pressed by someone who speaks baguette. I can see how shyt gets crazy. :heh:

Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver have some of the best PAWGs (and women of other races) I have ever seen.

I visit Montreal every almost year (I live in New England so it's easy to drive there) and currently in Toronto on vacation and goddamn....sooooo many PAWGs and bad bytches everywhere it's overwhelming.

Interestingly, there is very real animosity between Ontario and Quebec and they really don't like each other.
both our cities suck but Montreal sucks way less

And why is Québec not an independent country?

Quebec almost became it's own country in 1996 but the separation movement has died down alot since then. Most polls these days have support for sovereignty between 35-45%.

Lol there's really not much French being spoken outside of Quebec and if anything the government did that to placate them when the separatism conversation was really heating up

Every 15 or so years the conversation bubbles back up and we're overdue for it tbh, everyone was able to unite when Trump was talking his shyt earlier this year, but it's coming...

I saw a recent poll saying that over 50% of 18-34 year olds would consider voting Yes in a referendum, but we've seen this shyt before. :manny: The Parti-Quebecois are gonna do what they always do; talk about separation to get voted in and then ultimately not follow through.

The James Bay Cree and other First Nations people have already voted to remain with Canada if Quebec ever decides to become independent. So that would be a huge chunk of Quebec lost if they decide to separate. I doubt Quebec cares, though.

Because, they control their immigration, language policy and get billions in "equalization" payments and have more MP's than their population would allow without the pain of being a sovereign nation.

They have it all, so why leave? You should visit Montreal, if you haven't.

Don't most people from Quebec just speak both? Only with an accent, I doubt schools are not teaching English and vice versa.
