Many successful people, such as The Rock (Dwayne Johnson), have publicly stated they sleep 4-6hours daily..

I won't lie, I do this, and catch up on my sleep during the weekends. But it is becoming harder.

Also, its impacted my health negatively. I basically would take 4 (minimum) caffeine pills in order to stay awake and alert throughout the day. Eventually, they didn't hit me as hard so I would crush one up, put the powder in my mouth, and swallow that shyt with a cup of coffee. This works wonders.

Mornings are the hardest, but the best thing to do is jump out of bed, straight to the shower. Start with warm then turn that handle all the way to cold. Literally 5 seconds is all you need, gives you enough energy to go make your coffee/get on with your day.

As time went on I've seen my revenues grow as I could spend more time on my side hustles, this just drove me to more hours spent working as opposed to sleeping.

I firmly believe sleep is a fukking waste of time when we do it in large chunks. Sleep like 4-6hours max, and nap when you can. Use your weekends to catch up on sleep.

Anyone else live this lifestyle? Opinions on it? It's 1 AM and I'm writing this. Going to wake up in 5hours, probably sleeping after i hit the create thread button.

No one in the medical field, or the mental health field, who isn't an extremist or hack, (think Ben Carson) would ever recommend or endorse someone doing that. All that "I only need 4-5 hours of sleep" is nonsense, myth building and capitalist posturing. You are strung out on caffeine pills, and this catches up, sooner then later, whether you are using adderral, cocaine, meth, or caffeine.

Lol @ the "Seinfeld" episode where Kramer does this

I know it will catch up to me :ehh:
But a few months on and off like this will decrease the negative affects

I don't do this 24/7. Usually during school season only

I'm a sleeper. I fukking need my sleep and I know I do... used to live my life in a daze, but now I've forced myself into a proper routine I feel human. Far more comfortable day-to-day, I don't get stressed out nearly as much... lost pretty much all the paranoia about what my boss/others think of me. I think I would've ended up depressed if I'd continued down that path. Maybe I already was tbh.

My girlfriend still reckons she can get away on hardly any and likes to feel "productive" because she hates her dayjob so often survives on 4 or 5 hours on work nights as she tries to build her own business... generally it leaves her mood swinging pretty wildly in the week, she has arguments with her boss, can't take being disagreed with and then usually results in her sleeping through most of Sat and Sun, basically losing all the "useful" time she'd made for herself during the week. She probably breaks even on usable hours, but she often spends them in a bad mood.

Couple of weeks ago it went a step further, she collapsed after getting up early on Sunday and spent 3 days in hospital after badly hitting her head on the way down.

Sleep is so fukking important. Don't pretend you don't need it if you clearly do - it can end BADLY. Longterm lack of sleep is connected to higher risks of dementia, heart disease, high blood pressure, strokes, Alzheimers, obesity and diabetes. You'll be really proud of all those late working nights when your wife is spoon-feeding you babyfood and changing your nappies.

It's not wise. I spent quite a bit of my adult life getting 3-5 hours of sleep a night because I had undiagnosed sleep apnea. It affects your physical and mental health.

I've been sleeping appx 5 hrs per night for as long as I can remember. Anymore and I actually end up more tired during the day. Do what works for you. And I honestly don't see anything wrong with pushing yourself even if it catches up with you later. Life is about trade offs, cost vs benefit.

Excellent post and thank you for pointing out that this rhetoric/philosophy is "capitalist posturing," as you put it.

Health is wealth... who cares if you got stacks but a shyt ton of health problems?
