The real Crenshaw mafia crew (Deandre,etc) actually made a cameo on homicide life on the streets back in 95..
shyt True Detective Season 1 had at least 3 Wire actors I recognized, Lester, the Greek’s right hand man and Brother Mouzone
HBO likes using the same folks for shyt
But yeah The Corner really hit me back when I saw it as a youngster.
The dude Deandre died like folks mentioned already but then his moms husband, the dude Omar from the wire was based off (he was Omar’s homie in prison and when they went after Marlo’s people in that high rise apartment) died later that year too
so that woman dealt with addiction all her life, finally got clean and got married, then her son and husband dies in the same year

Just walking the streets and hanging around, you see so many needles, addicts and homesless folks
I was on their metro recently and this crazy ass white boy was on there talking to himself across from me
he looked like a damn caveman, no shoes on
his feet looked swollen 
Had all his trash bags and shyt with him. Everybody just acted like he wasn’t there 
I accidentally made eye contact and he was about to talk to me 
Can’t wait til the city really comes together tho, it has a lot of potential.
