These discussions go well, until a group of people get on here trying to insult the intelligence of others or a group of people. In this case, you have black individuals from the city, who feel they’re smarter than those blacks who come from a rural area. They have this sense of superiority, yet in other threads will be on some “we all black, we in this thing together.”

Nah, you’re not with me. I’m not standing with someone who thinks they’re better than me or smarter. I might as well stand with white folks if I’m going to do that, as they have those same feelings.

Just to add, you never hear anyone say they want to retire in Chicago. They usually want to move to a less populated area to relax and finish out their life .

It's just was you like folk.

Me I grew up dreaming of places like New York and LA. Until I got older and started traveling regularly....now I love living in Montgomery, Alabama and would never leave. I got fam in Chicago, DC, and NY that I visit regularly (haven't been to New York in a minute though like 3 years ago). Their beautiful places if that's what you like, but it got old to me fast. For one thing I hate having so many people around me. I do love art so the NY art spots I loved.

People think when you say country (in any part of the country) or the south period...you live in a one red light town and everyone says "howdy" and chews tobacco, lol. That's ignorance. I live within a 3 minute drive from 4 gas stations, a 7 minute drive from 3 grocery stores, 10-15 from multiple moving theaters, shopping, museums, restaurants (all the normal chains like Red Robin and smaller unique place like this dope Jamaican spot downtown).

When I want to go to a big city I either go due to my job (I was in Boston last week) or to see my fam. Its fun, but I love home.

It's nothing like those hood barbecue spots that shyt on anything anywhere I've been (except for maybe Memphis)......or being free to carry my gun anywhere I want....or the sense of community. Down here, people feel different. I cant explain it. It's lames, murders, idiots, thinkers, sqaures, nice people everywhere...but it's something about Southern Hospitality and respect.

I get it though, my Chi fam hates the pizza here and I tell them all the time "How do ya'll fukk up sweet tea?" :what:

I love the south bro. It's not country to me, but it is to my up north fam lol and I understand.

But it's nothing like sitting on the porch smoking a cigar, sipping some bourbon, and watching the stars at night. It's very peaceful.

To each his own.
:salute:

That’s the end goal. Yall can have the density and big city living, been there done that, it has its perks but I’m cool off being in the middle of it, rather be within driving distance to get what I need when I want.

Besides I’m tryna build something for the fam they can always fall back on when SHTF in this bytch.
Yea, this my end goal as well. I want a place my kids and their kids can run to when it all goes down, that will be theirs. I grew up in the city, but would like to finish my life country living. I’ve said it on here before, but I’ve always envisioned having a ranch style home, watching my grandchildren run around my land, my children and their spouses sitting around having discussion on worldly issues, what’s going on in their lives, and future vacation spots, etc, and other members of the fam congregating. I want all that all while sitting on my porch watching my family.

I take pride in my family owning a lot of land. It tells me that this country is mine just as much as it is these white mafukas, and that’s exactly what my grandpa used to always tell me. As an African American, my home is right here.

U alright? That’s a lot of false equivalencies that you’re doing and assumptions. But proceed...
