Do people actually take critic reviews serious? I never even read them.. I feel like half of the musical critics go in having a biased on an artist to begin with and just play off that to come up with a half assed review of an album, part of a genre, they hardly even fukk with. :yeshrug:

because it doesn't stand up when thought about critically aside from a few cuts

it's poorly written, most of the production has a nice sheen over it but its pretty universally lackluster

people who think critically about music, not paid critics or writers or anything like that, but people who really think critically about this, I don't know how they could really enjoy the album that much. it's mediocre

Pretty much what I expected :yeshrug: MCHG isn't an album that's gonna make reviewers look like they "get" something everyone doesn't so they pan it. It's too accessible for them. Meanwhile it's getting overwhelmingly positive reviews from the actual listeners.

"As an album, though, it tends to be safe." As part of Spin's "impulsive reviews," Rob Harvilla has a harsher take: "This is a reoccurring problem: Rich dad rap is still dad rap, and Jay-Z will never not sound like a bored first-class denizen on his fourth Bloody Mary ordering opulent, au courant, marvelously vapid beats out of a SkyMall catalog."

Dont nobody worry bout what cacs think of rap. These fools dont get it in the first place, so why worry. They said Yeezus was a classic album. I seen cac reviewers say that Krit's last tape wasn't dope. They need to stick to reviewing rock and roll and pop.

Exactly.

And with this, I'm not trying to compare the two.. but I feel like critics LOVED Yeezus because they got a chance to flex their "i enjoy music with deep meaning and a message" muscle as if lyrical content purely is what determines music being good.

I see the Coli is turning on Yeezus and the CAC reviewers that held it to a high standard. :mjpls: That didn't take long.

I like Yeezus, I think it's a fun sounding "experimental" album.. and that's it.. but I hate the critics and the listeners who somehow think they're more enlightened because of it.

It like the equivalent to the Alex Jones and conspiracy nuts who go around calling people "sheeple". It's annoying.
