They don't like rappers talking about their good life or success.
All negativity I observe is "he sounds too rich". I want them to criticize struggle bars not dope bars about extravagant shyt.

They hail Kay when he talks about poisoning the black community and criticizes him for songs like Murder to excellence.

Anyways after a few bumps it's 4 mics tops, not as dope as Kanye's but it'll probably have a longer replay value.

This is Jon Pareles. This who you're taking your hip hop opinions from? :usure:
These dudes love Yeezus, that alone should tell you something.

It was a decent album that I really enjoyed listening to. It didn't push any boundaries, "dualities" or otherwise. It's too accessible for critics; they can't act like blowhard pseudo-intellectuals, dissecting that ish.

I'm liking the album so far.
I don't know if it tops his very best albums but it's pretty
good so far, I'll see if my opinion changes.

Dont nobody worry bout what cacs think of rap. These fools dont get it in the first place, so why worry. They said Yeezus was a classic album. I seen cac reviewers say that Krit's last tape wasn't dope. They need to stick to reviewing rock and roll and pop.

Here they do. Grammy night.

No one cares what white people think about rap albums. If the critique doesnt come from a black source seriously, black people dont care and a white boy being turned off to a rap album because it got a bad review in pitchfork is a faggit, people we dont like.

GOH, Black people care what "cacs" think. Have you ever been here when the Grammys are on?

I like the album but like the critics, gave a lot more points for Ye at least stepping somewhat out of his comfort zone. The Grammy panel will do the same.

Most 95% of hiphop fans won't agree with that assessment however and its fair.

MCHG was sprung on us in very short time and was done very well IMO. Can't ask for more than from Jay these days. He's the king of rap. :manny:

I swear I was going to make a thread about white publications and website critiquing hip hop albums, the shyt is to be taken with absolutely no credence. This is going to be harsh, but it is what it is. What the fukk do these white critics know about hip hop? These are the same people who criticize "flashy" content as mindless drivel, but hail Eminem as the greatest rapper ever. Eminem raps about mushroom, poppin pills and 3 million fukkin ways to kill his baby momma. He has albums titled Recovery and Relapse, I just can't take any of these white writers seriously.

I don't go to Vibe or XXL or the Source to get reviews on Coldplay or The White Stripes, so why in the fukk would I get my hip hop reviews from Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly or Pitchfork?

I will NEVER listen to the opinion of a white person about hip hop, this is form of music was created from MY fukkING CULTURE. What I look like letting some random white dude with a fukking writing credential tell me about MY CULTURE?

Bottom line, stay in your fukking lane!

revisionist shyt?
1. All Jay's street albums got good reviews.

2. WTT's only criticism was that he sounded too rich, that they couldn't relate (when the fukk could the cac's relate to Jay?), that they were too inconsiderate of cac's feeling the roughness of being broke (due to the recession). Same here.

3. The album has only been reviewed by like 8 reviewers 4 of this gave it 4/5-5/5, the other 4 3/5-3.5/5. We'll have to wait until the album drop for the real review, and hopefully the negative ones have some real criticism. Instead of the criticism only being about Basquiats, his private life, his wealth and on. I don't recall them complaining about the Lexuse's, Escalades, Cristal's etc. hoodrichness is whatever, but real ballin that's disgusting. And I think Jay loves the hate cacs have for it.

Again, I actually read reviews and understand the purpose of them in music. Rarely does the people defeat the reviewers in rap we have a few albums like TM101, It Was Written, Trap Muzik and Stillmatic that I recall getting average reviews but being hailed great albums by the people. In this case I think the album will get about what the people will give it. But hopefully it's for the right reasons (not cause he's winning).
