There is something about that Black and Steel. The only thing left I still have from the time frame is a Majestic (not even sure that company still exists) Raiders sweatshirt that is designed somewhat like a sweater. DOC was and is a vital part of Dre's dominance over hip-hop. Just listen to The Formula. They basically spelled it out right there. We are still caught up in the formula. Whirlwind Pyramid. A perfect example of an MC riding the track like a surfer on the edge of a wave. Not laying back on the beat, but staying a fraction ahead of it. All the way to the very last 4t beat of the last measure of the song. I wish Dre would've let DOC write most of his shyt on Compton instead of Kendrick. I like Kendrick, but Dre's style/vibe is handled best by DOC.

Snoop nor big nor Pac were in doc's class as an emcee at all.
Doc is one of the few emcees in rap history on his first appearance you know this was a goat candidate like krs, rakim and Kane were.
He was in that class and no lower.
He was the first westcoast rapper before the south was segregated in the re-alignment of the westcoast. like re-configuring the conferences in football.
That any cultural bias he never felt as an emcee and back then with ruthless.
Given the content direction of nwa being taboo.
All from a first person perspective and not the cautionary tale rap sonic audio history book.
