The can make a Die Hard inspired movie and it would work, Just leave the name Die Hard out of it. It was and always will be Bruce Willis action vehicle and the original trilogy is a product of its time. If they want to do the everyman good guy claustrophobic cat and mouse action flick just do it without the branding of DIE HARD

The everyman good guy flick is and has been done only a gazillion times.. Speed was die hard on a bus... Passenger 57 was die hard on a plane... Aliens was die hard in space and on and on..

There's no where else for the franchise to go but a reboot. What else can they do? Die hard 7 with McClanes grandkids

simple answer is just do die hard like they are doing blade runner or Rocky/Creed... keep it same universe, give younger guy the main role and give Bruce a cameo or supporting role ... make gosling or whoever his son in law or something
