To keep it real there was a bit of a Dipset backlash ON THE INTERNET around late 04 early 05. I remember on AHH dudes would complain about Cam and Juelz's "repetitive nursery rhyme style flow" Jones being wack to many members ect.I also remember some posters calling them the "Dipshyts" But I aint never heard nobody say that shyt in the streets tho.

i remember a lot of having to do with them mainly clowning Nas.
you had a lot of people turn their noses up who only said they liked COC Cam but he did get love from a section of backpackers and so did Jeezy too off the strength of 101.

He just dont know man. I live in the south. Cam had nyggas wearing pink tee's here. Diplomats were also working with southern artist before they really became stars like TI (Crown Me is classic), Wayne (just after his sqad run), etc which helped with their popularity imo. Shyt they worked with Game too. They were working with nyggas before they really blew up

Lil Flip put them on 2 joints on his double album because they embraced him when he went to NY.

lowkey, apparently the Dipset/50 situation nearly happened earlier because 50 wasn't too happy his artist first video look was Certified Gangsta's.

The synergy those dudes had :ahh:
The only bad thing about the Roc breakup was that Dipset crumbled just after that.

nikka where did you live? Pluto???

I don't know where a nikka is from where Dip Set was crazy popular. In NY during that time only thing more popular was G-Unit and that depending on which hood you was from

old ass post but yeah.

Dipset was popping in Middle of Nowhere Mississippi the same way folks would look at that old ass "Banging in Little Rock" TV Specal and see lil white kids rapping Snoop and Doctor Dre..

It's one of the very few times I can remember everyone from everywhere listening to the same shyt with no regional bias.
