true, but that coinsides with "walk this way" because that song was all Russell Simmons & Rick Rubin's idea, not Run-Dmc's..they didn't even wanna do the song at 1st.

for me,when kanye blew up it changed the overall atmosphere of hiphop..he made it cool for the soft n sweet,non threating rappers to come in the game with their weird & effeminate ways

i can respect this reason, but it also forced rap producers to become more creative, thus giving hiphop a little more originality,so it wasn't all bad..

Music is better when it has substance. Even a catchy simple pop song. If it's got substance and hits #1. High probability it will be a classic. Artists in hip hop don't care bout that though. Neither do its gatekeepers. So really hip hop was great and all at a certain point. But it failing because the dudes in power. Shouldn't be. O well. Hip hop don't care about substance. So why care about hip hop? With the current atmosphere. You better off being a pop star. Hotter girls. More money. Longer legacy.

In this day and age of the internet and so many artist out there putting there stuff online, we can't determine the state of hip hop based on what's playing on the radio
