1996.....there was a shift in 1991/1992 and hip-hop was in bad shape but after 96 it was a wrap...yeah classics were dropped after that but the culture was advancing too much so it had to be stomped out, shot up, sold off in pieces and assimilated.

It was planted with the Sugar Hill Gang. When Run DMC collabbed with Aerosmith it was the first nail. Nobody knew it yet. The seed had been planted.

You mean Industry Pop Rap doesn't care about substance. Trying to be pop stars, is one reason why those rappers have no substance and are flash in the pans.Music is better when it has substance. Even a catchy simple pop song. If it's got substance and hits #1. High probability it will be a classic. Artists in hip hop don't care bout that though. Neither do its gatekeepers. So really hip hop was great and all at a certain point. But it failing because the dudes in power. Shouldn't be. O well. Hip hop don't care about substance. So why care about hip hop? With the current atmosphere. You better off being a pop star. Hotter girls. More money. Longer legacy.

He broadened the audience and made it more popular u dumb af.at there not being an Eminem option.
Ol stuck in the past ass nikkazThe 90's is over and never coming back.
dusty fags need to stay in there basement and never leave the 90sNo, but they both played a role in the demise of hiphop to a degree imo
Walk this way was the 1st blatant sellout rap song, and opened doors for more sellouts in the future
