True. But considering the team, history, and rivalry of that Game 7 ALCS, the ether was that much more strong. Boone snatched some souls.

The Red Sox coming back a couple years later to deliver the biggest playoffs ether of all time only makes the moment that much more special in retrospect.

As someone who doesn't really fukk with either team that series of events solidified it as the GOAT team sports rivalry to me.
The rivalry transcends any particular sport too. The 1986 World Series :wow:. The 1999 ALCS . Mo Lewis knocking out drew Bledsoe :martin:. Super Bowls 42 and 46 :whew:

:beli: kicking off in overtime against the jets last year cost New England home field advantage in the playoffs and probably another championship.
And he totally gets a free pass for this for some reason..

Phil not calling a TO when the Lakers were up 25 against Boston in game 4 of The Finals. Dude literally just sat there the whole time as the lead shrinked like this:russell:

That sh1t still haunts me

Pop keeping TD on the bench in game 6 of the 13 Finals...

Man, even legendary coaches have legendary blunders, in the freaking Finals at that :shaq2:

The Spurs winning in 2014 really saved Pop cause if not for that the last thing he would be known for was throwing away a title because he didn't have one of the GOAT rebounders of all time on the floor...to get 1...more...rebound...

Probably like 5 years back in a regular season game the redskins lined up on 4th and ~8 to punt, motioned into a muddle huddle to run a screen play. Team they were playing looked lost and immediately called a TO to regroup. Redskins came out and tried to run the shyt again after the TO.

It uhhh didn't work :dwillhuh:

The Nationals deciding to shutdown Steven Strasburg for the rest of the season in 2012
(He was perfectly healthy) As a Braves fan I couldn't stop laughing when they
choked away that playoff game to the Cards.

Easily the worst choke job from a manger in history. Had the infield in with one out and the bases loaded with the World Series on the line. If the infield is at dp depth, Jeter catches Luis' shallow pop up. No reason to have the middle infield in with 1 out.
