The business got in the way of friendship and Joe chose the business. The lesson here isn't about Joe,it's about not letting friendship dictate your common sense. They should have been here years ago. When one person dictates the course and the friendship is the currency that is used to imply trusting the process,you're a dummy and no amount of projection towards Joe is going to absolve them from not following their own advice. Joe might be abrasive and using his "friendships" for gain but show me a business man without burned bridges and imploded relationships

Joe said Mal and Rory had their lawyers draw up their initial deals.
If Rory and Mal wanted to renegotiate their contracts, it’s standard business practice to want to know the numbers to gauge their worth when re working their deal. What’s so foul about asking YOUR boy who rants about ownership and creative equity to see the numbers of the show they worked on for years? Not like Joe is a suit and Rory/Mal have no access to him. But he wanted to treat them like that after fighting for years about ownership and how the suits play the game when he turned around and did the same

I thought these guys were making at least 150-200K per year nah these guys were doing 2-3 pods a week at one point. Your time has to be worth WAY more than that.
