Yeah, it actually be far simpler with ice and ish, because right from the jump they now they workers. This is their paycheck, they’ll collect it and go home.
The ambiguous nature of the business the past couple of years and who’s who’s boss is what lead to this. Mal thought he owned a stake in the podcast he doesn’t even show up on time for.
This same exact sentiment happened on Corey Holcomb podcast. He called zo the weakest link and now that he’s gone You can really see the void left in his absence

Thats what I keep saying. Joe’s name and his antics early on are what got people initially listening to the pod but the pod grew because people actually LIKED Rory and Mal. Joe would go off on his rants and Mal and Rory would steer or at least try to bring the conversation back. They didn’t offer much and they never dropped gems but there was a real chemistry there at some point. The show grew because of them too.
If this was just the Joe Biden Podcast - why did he include Rory and Mal and Parks in the promo for their advertising? I remember the marketing photos having all of them in it and especially photos of Rory, Joe and Mal to promote the show. If these are just workers and not the co hosts that helped build the brand, why include them in your promo for your podcast? I never seen Howard Stern include his workers in the promo. Or Joe Rogan ever mention Jamie in his promos. He did that because he blurred the lines with them behind the scenes and I’m sure they had talks over the years about ownership of the brand and when the Spotify deal fell through, Joe drew his lines as their BOSS and them being his workers. It’s just nasty business from Joe all the way around
