Damn that's going to rock people credit scores....But I know this much If I wasn't able to fill a property I'd have no choice but to take a person with an eviction....

Some landlords would rather keep a property empty that bring in a person with an eviction as they are viewed as a "liability" that could break the lease at any point and time unfortunately.

It's a major fukk up on Congress part though because the Supreme Court basically laid out the blueprint months ago on how to extend the moratorium. They would veto anything that Biden tried to do involving it, unless it came from Congress Authorization.

Biden should have telling Congress to extend the moratorium the moment the Supreme Court made their ruling instead of waiting until the week of to do something all while knowing that them cats are/were headed home until Mid-September. That's why all the posturing and fake PR moves look disingenuous as they knew what they had to do.

people rather go on vacation, pay their car note than pay their rent. fukk em :yeshrug:

But mega corporations can waste millions and billions of dollars, yet the government would still bail them out with no profit whatsoever. It's always amazing how people complain about the little guy benefiting , but never mention a word about the rich who do it as well :unimpressed:

Congress knew it was coming as well, so they shouldn't sit there and pretend like they're actually trying to do something to stop the moratorium from ending.

forgive me if I don't base my day to day well being on what Congress is planning or not planning to do....that's just an excuse imo. btw Biden made is very clear months ago that he was discontinuing the moratorium. This didn't just pop up out of thin air.

In my view, people received money without working for more than a year now...the responsibility to handle your business falls squarely on the shoulders on those who were cakin

Those rental assistance programs be having some weird requirements lol I’ve heard several people complaining that it’s a waste of time applying
The requirements are literally racist. It’s written so that black people won’t be eligible.

Not even kidding, look it up.

In that case, they allshould keep quiet about the moratorium instead of trying to do PR moves to save face and let it expire in peace.

Biden is putting pressure on Congress. Congress is putting pressure on the CDC to do something. The Supreme already said that they wouldn't extend it for Biden, but would for Congress. There's nothing to discuss when the Supreme Court already told them what to do months ago and they didn't do it.

I think youre interpretation of what Biden wanted to do and what's going on now is off...FWIW I think Congress is feeling pressure from States not to extend it due to a worker shortage....but that's besides the point....I still don't understand how any of this alleviates individuals from taking responsibility for assuring that the UE and Covid money was spent.

I think I read someone on here (not sure if it was you) that said that they had their rent paid up to February of next year...impo that person knew what their priorities were and handled their business.

I can't really sympathize when the executive branch froze student loan payments (a year ago)...then congress signed over 2 covid relief bills and passed them both...then proceeded to allocate child tax credits a month ago....I'm not sure what else can be or needs to be done at this point....all the tools and mechanisms have been put in place....if someone doesn't have their rent paid at this point, that's on them :manny: I say....let the evictions proceed.

The money is out there to save evictions, but the process in doing so is complicated on top of the lack of manpower and resources to process said applications........

That's a Congress problem as they threw the bread out there and left states to figure it out on their own.

I have 50K equity and I didn’t even move in yet :pachaha:

I got lucky. I signed my contract right before the lumber and other prices skyrocketed.

You lucky summabytch.

Good for you though, breh. That’s been one of my concerns for our next home. What if I purchase this house at the apex of the market, and next year the market dips, dropping it’s value significantly? I plan on being there long term and it’ll eventually go back up, but that will still suck. I doubt that it will happen though. These high prices are here to stay.

We’re selling our house for almost 50% more than what we paid for it, but much of our profits are going right back into our next one. The market is crazy right now and we close on the sale of our current home and the purchase of our home next week.

Relocating, moving, and real estate can be stressful, yet very rewarding. I just want to get it over with.
