I know people who have considered applying for the FBI and were warned about the overt racism amongst the rank and file.

I also know the FBI has been historically weaponized against the black population of America in the form of COINTELPRO and the drug war.

And I also know the FBI is less than 5% black and 20% female. In other words it is a overwhelmingly white male institution...made up of a lot of ex-cops and ex-military.

It's not that hard to see.

Yeah but even if they did succeed at tiptoeing around the law, they had to know the investigations were coming and that would hurt her political capital as a first term president...especially after being investigated for travelgate and all that bullshyt in the 90's.

Regarding the anecdotal stuff, you're white and I guess oblivious to the fact that black people generally warn each other about racism in situations or endeavors. If people I know were warned about racism in the FBI, there's no reason to believe it's a lie. Unless you're a racist white Trump supporter I guess.

The irony here is it was the FBI who took down the KKK several times starting in the 1920s when State agencies wouldnt act ,Not to mention many other white nationalist militias...

In fact its well known white nationalist movements hate the FBI for constantly surveilling and Arresting them..

Granted J Edgar Hoover did use them on civil rights movement and the Black panthers but you be hard pressed to make the case that it was done purely out of racism because he used the same tactics on the white communist party,Anti war crusaders and Environmentalists.

I don't know what to tell you... I spent time with countless people... white, black, Hispanic, Muslim, female, whatever. Most investigative targets in my area were black and Hispanic. There was never once anything that would even amount to a borderline racial comment. Not a joke. No political talk. Nothing. In fact, I heard more conversation about how pernicious it was to keep felonies on records for non violent drug offenders because it prevented people from gainful employment in the future and usually put them back to drugs.



But my experience is just as worthless as the source you quoted... there is HQ and field offices throughout the country... to pretend as if one person has a pulse on the entire Bureau is bullshyt. Less worthless than your experience knowing people who applied though...

Could be a generational thing. The stuff I heard about the FBI was back in like mid-90 something now that I think about it.

Regardless, you can't seriously deny the FBI has engaged in violence and gross crimes against black people historically. That doesn't go away from the institution in a decade or two.

Racism aside, it's obvious that the FBI is mostly Trump voters just based on statistics. The FBI disproportionately white and male. White males are voting overwhelmingly for Trump. White males with a passion or interest in law enforcement I'm sure trend even higher for Trump.

So the claim about FBI agents going rogue with leaks to influence the election is perfectly reasonable, especially when coming from actual FBI agents which are cited in the Guardian piece
