Cleared by the League =/= Cleared by the FEDS

This. Hard to have sympathy when we don't even know the full story. My concern is that everything in his profile now looks like a red flag. Which is unfortunate because it's not fair that we - the public, his employer, etc - have such intimate financial information on someone. If you work at a job and your check is getting garnished or creditors are calling your employer, the only people who know that are in payroll. And they don't share that information with your actual boss under any circumstances. But in this case we know he has massive debt to (predator) lenders who target athletes. We know he lost his luxury apartment due to non-payment. We know he faced legal issues due to not paying a dentist. All this stuff is in the air and if you're a GM you have to consider it. Because to me all this stuff points to him being the exact type of athlete who ends up involved with gambling, mob shyt, etc.

A lot of these guys are living check to check. Which is crazy to us considering an NBA bi-weekly check for an average, non-star player is around 400-500k. Now imagine how deep you have to be in fukkery not to be able to save anything from that, because you're paying creditors or hiding cash.

Surprised Detroit didn’t bring him back.

He should not go there. That team is a huge mess right now with very racist fanbase blaming black players on all team failures. He might not even get that contract money fully unless he sues them and goes to court.

He’s not. He's already got online and confirmed that's not true and he's not going overseas.

I'm not sure he can afford to turn down millions for 6 months of work.

Dude did have 300 3s last year so will be interesting

There is def room on a roster for his ability to space the floor but breh is right the optics are not on his side yet maybe by the as break...He was big for Detroit last season but their young core has continued to level up so they don't really need him rn barring injury..
