Either they are here or they don't exist.

They're in our deep seas where humans can't go due to the pressure.

In just a couple hundred years we will have unimaginable computing power...we'll see

Will we even make it that far?:francis:
Tbf, people were saying this about ww2 and the Cold War 80s. Humans have a remarkable ability to keep existing.

It’s already been 6 years from when this was posted and quantum computing is on some next lvl sht based on just this prior winter.

But on the topic of the thread, I really do think that all the habitable planets are spaced too far apart for us to see eachother within any space civilization’s lifetimes. Watch there be an alien planet looking at us in the present from a distance of 30,000 light years away (with light that is 30k years old) . They look in our direction, but all they can see is humanity in 28,000BC. Egypt wasn’t even a thing yet at that point, so I’d imagine they’d think they’re all alone too because of no techno signatures .:patrice:

Also, I think it's very likely that they could be observing us with us being aware. And just because we don't see what we think of as life, doesn't mean it's not there.

Have you heard the shark in a coral reef theory? :picard: The idea is basically that we aren't hearing any signs of life, because there's a super predator species/life-form out there, and other plants more advanced than us are staying quiet because they don't want to get fukked up, and if they can hear us, they're probably shaking their heads at how stupid we are for trying to initiate contact with extraterrestrial life.
