I tried to make it work on their new site but I gotta fall back. Every time I open my mouth with an opinion and a mod doesn't like what I say I get warned. If I keep posting there I'll probably just get banned. My last warning I won't even click the I understand button so they won't let me post anymore. Mod didn't really even say I violated a forum rule it was basically some shyt they didn't like my tone and what I said so I got warned.

It's over. That community is permanently fragmented. I don't know how long you've been around here but if you go back to SOHH you'd know that many popular posters never migrated to here. Over time this place grew into it's own but it's not SOHH 2.0. When a community is destroyed that's it.

Maybe somebody makes another forum and a good sized chunk migrates but it'll never be what it once was.

i saw one breh in that gravity rush thread get a warning for "complaining" and i thought to myself this forum is retarded as fuk, why am I even here?

that forum is retarded, and u can't even speak up for dude who got that warning and say "wow that was retarded" because then you'll get one too.

I'll never understood why ppl think its a good idea to put individuals like that in charge of things

I dunno, maybe it's just me but I believe in freedom, and as long as you aren't threatening peoples lives, stalking, being racist or bigoted, harassing or exposing someones personal biz then u should pretty much be able to say anything u want as long as it doesn't violate those things i mentioned

these dudes really prefer a Saddam Hussein type dictatorship on their forums, and this is the 2nd time it's happened.


I'm assuming the original Neogaf is less lame now tho since all the fukbois traveled over to the other forum, no?

Yeah. I said something about a celebrity getting addicted to hard drugs and how basically I don't see how that shyt happened to them and I got a warning for "unsympathetic discourse and victim blaming."

Basically if you come into a thread and your perspective or what you say is outside of the lines of what a mod wants to hear it's at least a warning and could be a ban.

I always viewed message forums as places where different people with different perspectives could get together and talk about shyt. Era isn't that. It's basically an echo chamber where what one says on an issue is only allowed to be said if the mods agree with it.

I mean people here can say some pretty wild stuff and get away with it but I'd rather it be that than a conversation being policed at every level by a mod to the point where everyone is damn near saying the exact same thing.

I got warned because In a thread about Kingdom Hearts play order a person was saying how they were so far behind on the spinoff games after 2 it was daunting and I said that's what YouTube is for. They called it thread whining. Thing is they don't even point out what rule you violate of their terms of use when you get these warnings. You just get a warning with it being listed what they didn't like about what you said.

theres gotta be some sort of psychological reason why stuff like that happens on certain forums and why many ppl willingly go along with it

the irony of this all this that all those idiots who willingly committed suicide (perma bans) with their neogaf accounts to join the new one thinking it would be the opposite of what neogaf had been are probably regretting that now.

Era is now what Neogaf was (in terms of all the negative and terrible things ppl complained about and attributed Gaf)

and now Neogaf is a slightly better forum since all the ppl that made Neogaf terrible are gone and now in charge over there.

And don't give me none of that "we got rid of all the racist, and bigoted ppl" having an opinion on a video game or film or XYZ has nothing to do with being a racist or bigot or whatever. I could legit see someone getting a warning for saying they prefer Coke over Pespi and not at all be shocked because it's ERA.

Outside a handful of threads dedicated to games and shows I'm into I won't be posting there anymore. I especially won't be posting on any social issues, race related issues, or anything that could be considered controversial. I thought ResetEra was supposed to be better than what Gaf was. It's probably more tightly modded than Gaf ever was.

Well of course it’s different socially, it’s a white message board and we have different experiences and thoughts. It’s why I don’t say specific shyt there. However, it was never not gonna be gaf since all the fake progressive people would still be there. So many white people want to feel like they’re better humans than conservatives but they aren’t since they hold the same views of poc and gay people, so they try to go with the flow but they’re lying to themselves and it was evident on gaf and still is on era.

resetera is mostly the previous neogaf crowd, so obviously it will have the same style modding. Gaf is actually a lot less tightly modded since the split, but it's slow. Resetera is where all the communist mods went.
