I have had the 6p since Jan 2016...I love the pure Android experience but still battling between the pixel 2, note 8, or possibly moving over to the iphone

Around 24 hours or so with the S8+ and so far I'm very impressed, didn't think I'd ever leave iOS but the experiences just weren't close. Looking at and using the 7 Plus and using the S8 after and the 7 Plus just felt like a cheaper/inferior product (both matte black/jet black models). The new UI doesn't lag out of the box like my S6 did, stays out of the way for the most part. Little weird things here and there but not too far off from iOS in smoothness, we'll see what happens in a couple months. And I'd say the iris scanner works for me 80% of the time the first time. The 20% I have to try and position myself is really annoying but there's other way to unlock/secure if I get tired of it, haven't even used the fingerprint scanner but I don't have any problems reaching it. No real major complaints other Apple Music, idk if it needs to be updated or if the Android version is just shytty.

Overall I'd say it's the best phone I've ever used, I can't think of another one off top I've used that's better. It beats than the 7 Plus which is why I shipped it back to Verizon after work. Apple's got their work cut out.

Hit the "Iris unlocks when screen turns on" button...stops all the bullshyt.

nah I don't like it cause you still gotta swipe in order to get to the iris. then a couple seconds to scan, then it opens. with the finger print scanner there's no swiping needed. phone can be completely off, just place my finger on the scanner and it's open. much more seamless to me.

Post above solves that problem...

I got tired of waiting for Target and copper the S8+ from Best Buy. I'll miss out on the preorder gifts but F that I'm not waiting a week or more past launch.

This phone is ridiculous. I need to play with the settings some more but I'm loving this right out the box. The screen is :wow:

One thing about this phone. The UAG case is a must. On a normal S8 makes the fingerprint scanner work 100% of the time and guides your finger to it at the right position. I dropped my iPhone 7 in a UAG case on concrete it landed face down in the end and not a scratch on it. Can't tell it happened even the case looks fine.

USB type C is the new industry standard going forward. There's even talk of Apple putting it on the iPhone. It's not a problem for me because I have several micro to type C converters. I kept the last one from my Note7 and I bought 2 and the phone comes with 1. Also my Nintendo Switch uses the same cables.

Yeah USB type C is the USB 3.0 version of Micro USB which is 2.0. The speeds are better and the connector goes in either way. Any devices that would have used Micro in the past when a new version is released will likely be type C.

What are yall doing for screen protection? I just been using the screen raw with the UAG case for the back of the phone.
